Today's update has "good news" and "bad news."
First the "BAD" news
July 3rd report from NOAA.
NOAA Models: 60-80% Chance For Tarballs To Hit The Florida Keys And
Miami
OK....before you start "freaking out" here is the good news:
NOAA also reports:
"Any oil reaching this area would have spent considerable time
degrading and dispersing and would be in the form of scattered
tar balls and not a large surface slick of oil."
So the bottom line is that the odds are pretty good that eventually
the Florida Keys will see some kind of oil product in the area.
If it is scattered Tar Balls it should be a manageable problem
provided that we are all prepared. Of course all of this
could change if a tropical storm hits the Gulf area.
What can you do to help today?
Go to www.KeysSpill.com and volunteer or donate to help fund the
Volunteer efforts. We now have over 4,245 people on standby to
help if called to duty. Our volunteers need HAZMAT suits, boat fuel
and many other supplies to be ready. Your donations help purchase
these supplies, Keysspill is a Florida Non Profit Organization.

Check out meetings at www.keysspill.com, there is a c.e.r.t.s
meeting tonight at Sippins Cafe in Key West at 8 PM and
every Thursday.
Sign the "Super Tankers" Petition which asks President Obama to
allow foreign super tankers into the Gulf to help the oil
spill efforts.

with accurate relevant DW Horizon Disaster information and
projects from all oil spill response partners. If you ever feel we

been successful in building strong alliances with Local, State and
Federal Governments. We have been working as quickly as
possible to build checks and balances in our organization.
