I bought an A70 a week ago and it was simply amazing. A week ago I dropped it, which cracked the backplate and also stopped the charging from working. Since I do not live in a region of Europe where authorized samsung repair shops are around, I had to try and service it through an unlicensed one.

After they were done checking it out they said a connection on the motherboard cracked and they cannot fix it ( to clarify they said it was not related to the charging port or even the bottom part of the phone). They also said they broke a part of the phone's antenna off.

This is why I advocate always going to the official Samsung Service Centres or Samsung Experience Stores if possible and local even if the cost is higher than a shop that advertises they repair phones.

In regards to the internal boards you would have to look around at different shops ,but then also weigh up the time and costs involved to try and get this phone working again against the purchase of a new phone.

Well come mid summer, the phone just died. Did the same process of battery repair and then being told the motherboard is dead. Sent it into Samsung and they wanted me to fork over another 350-400 for a new motherboard. Mind you this is about 10 months after I bought the phone, still under warranty. They claimed that I damaged a chip inside and therefore voided my warranty. They refused to tell me what chip, or how it was damaged. And they told me something like the issue is covered under warranty but the other issue is not and therefore I have to pay to fix the other issue.

I tried for weeks. Here's the kick though. I never dropped my phone, I didn't get it wet, I took quite good care, case from day one and considering it was mostly pandemic stay at home I rarely used it outside of the house. I refused to pay another 350-400 on a phone I had already paid almost $1000 for. I found a good Reddit post describing this as a common occurrence with cell phone companies. You have a warranty, but they try and find something to get out of it. I decided at that point I was no longer going to pay a premium or get another Samsung device. $300-400 for Samsung is pocket change, for a consumer that's alot. Especially since I had spent in the thousands on devices from them in the past. I ended up getting a phone from one of their competitors and am quite happy so far.

Same thing here... My phone stopped charging and was dead from one day to another. I brought it to Samsung Customer Support service, and they told me the main board was defect. Repairs: 200euros over new price of the phone.

I followed the instructions on a YouTube video, but I accidentally tried to detach the wrong cable/ribbon. This caused it to snap the ribbon connector to the motherboard and lose screen functionality completely. Upon closer inspection, i appear to have snapped some of the tiny pins that were on the board itself =/

I'm now left with a dead tablet which I only purchased brand new about 6 weeks ago. I can't send it back under warranty for obvious reasons and I don't really want to spend another 50-70 on getting it repaired.

So my question is, can this be repaired at a relatively cheap cost? And if so, is it something I can do myself? I would add pictures to show the damage caused but I haven't quite figured out how to attach them just yet...

Thanks. It will probably have to wait until next Wednesday now (payday), but I would definitely like to take you up on the offer. I'll save the link and send you a message once I have paid. While we're at it...do you also do mobile phone repairs? I've got a Samsung A3 (2016) also with a damaged screen. I dropped it on holiday a few weeks ago and unable to get it working again. Half of the screen was working after I dropped it, but it looked like the ink leaked (?) and now the whole LCD is not working at all. No problem if not, I will definitely take you up on the tablet repair either way. Cheers

Ok thanks. How much extra would it cost to fit a new screen to the phone? And do you have a rough idea how much a decent quality replacement screen would cost me in the first place? Im looking at some on ebay which are around 10 with a full repair kit. It looks genuine but I just cant see it being that cheap?!
