Do you think that artists predict the future, or do they only reflect
their society?

Art has always been a means of communication. The existence of art and
artist is unknown. The presence of art is formed with every
civilization and it has been transforming into something very
beautiful with its each movements. The group of individuals with the
different views and thoughts together make a society. And this group
of society with a certain movement or change forms the civilization.
Every civilization creates from of art be that explaining their
movements or be that predicting what is next. Either the artist does
have the power of predicting the future or it is just that they create
by studying the present or the past.
Future has always been uncertain and unknown. No one has been able to
predict the future yet; it is only that few people with the high power
of intuition have been able to give the hint of what will happen next.
But, it is not necessary that every artist that portraits, posses the
power of intuition. But they do help by their works either it’s by
providing the positive chance of hope or just by giving the pleasure
of seeing, feeling or listening their creations. But more then
describing the future, the present have been drawn be that the period
of Roman or Greek , where the paintings symbolized the belief and
morality of people or the Renaissance and patronage where art started
having greater values, or the later 18th century where the artist like
Rococo started painting on their own enjoying themselves. Around in
the 19th century, women became the center idea for the arts. The 20th
century artists started painting more visually appealing then the real
world.
From my view, I do not think that the artist predicts the future but
they do have the talent of explaining or showing world the different
side of every situation. They are capable of using their talents in a
fine manner in explaining the human emotions that one comes across in
the daily life. The artists have been portraying their own emotional
feeling that they faces. They are able in capturing the moments and
the activities in a single form of art, be that music or painting or
anything. They describe the present situation where they are living
in. they show how the time have been on them, was is a good times or
the bad times the artist draws its picture just to let the views get
the idea of what was or is going around. The artists may also portrait
the picture for the future as they may compare and contrast the past
and present and create the future. But whatever has been predicted
cannot be the reality of the future. But they do show the silver
lining of the cloud for the better future or aware you by the horrible
truth that can be faced.
As the art works of the artist can be so inspiring and touching that
their works are now used to spread a special message of either
awareness or general messages. But the historical work of the past
artist have also been treasured and modified into new ideas that are
used today.
As mentioned before future is unknown and uncertain. But artist are
the product of the society where they born and live. Therefore, they
represent their surroundings. These representatives of the society
show how, what and where the present is and holds. The arts tell us
the untold rather then what can be told. Every creation of the artist
today mentions about what the present not what the future can be. It
tells about the present time and the society and helps in revealing
the meaning of the society rather then being in the mystery itself.
The predictions of the future have been impossible till now, and shall
always remain too. But the work of the artist does show the hope and
does makes people aware of what could happen but not from what will
certainly happen.
