Hi! Sorry for the delay! Work got sooo crazy as the week went on!  I'm not sure if you need any more information about the wedding, but my planner described it pretty well on her blog:

Let me know if you need anything else!!

In-depth Interview Questions

1.      Can you tell me the engagement story?

While down in my hometown of Jupiter for his family reunion, Bryan suggested that we climb the lighthouse in Jupiter, which was something I had always wanted to do.  Once at the top, he proposed!

2.      How long was/ will the engagement be?

It was 2 years.

3.      What was the first thing you did wedding planning wise after getting engaged?

We decided that we wanted the wedding in Jupiter at my church, and decided we wanted to get married in April (just not sure which year, 2010 or 2011).

4.      Who is paying for the wedding? (groom and I, parents, etc.)

My parents paid for most everything, his parents contributed $10,000.

5.      How was your budget established?

I made an Excel spreadsheet with the averages of prices of each specific service/vendor in our area, and figured out what parts of the wedding were most important to us.

6.      What do you have budgeted the most for? Why that?

We budgeted the most for rentals, as we had the reception at a private residence and had to bring everything in.

7.      Did you use/ do you plan on using a wedding planner? Why or why not?

Yes, best decision ever!  Our reception was at my husband’s grandfather’s home, and had to create the reception area completely from scratch.  Also, I was living in New York with the wedding in Florida, so I definitely needed help with the long distance planning.

8.      (If she says no planner, ask if her schedule is just too busy to meet with one? How many hours do you work a week?)

9.      How are you doing a majority of your wedding planning?

I did it from my home, with 3 or 4 weekends down in Florida that our planner helped us coordinate meeting all of the vendors, etc.

10.  When do you do a majority of your planning? (nights, weekends)

As I was working in retail at the time, I could do it days/nights/weekends, just depending on my weekly schedule.

11.  What has been the worst part of wedding planning?

The insane cost of everything, and any family drama.

12.  The best?

Being able to plan this whole event from scratch and see if come to fruition.

13.  Who is helping you plan the wedding the most?

My mom

14.  What are they doing specifically?

I would run all my ideas past her and she her input.

15.  What’s your wedding’s theme, colors, and inspiration?

Our main theme was modern tropical, with different shades of turquoise/aqua with whites and sands, and coral/tangerine as accent colors.

16.  How would you describe your wedding?

It was a very modern, relaxed event

17.  Where did you get the inspiration for your wedding?

Blogs

18.  Did you buy any magazines to help? Which ones? How often?

I bought The Knot and Martha Stewart Wedding every once in a while.

19.  What blogs do you read?

More than I can list!  I found local Floridian photographers’ blogs the most helpful, but also used Style Me Pretty to get ideas.

20.  Why those blogs?

They would relate most closely to the style I was looking for.

21.  What social media platforms are you using? (FB, Twitter, Pinterest, Lover.ly)

I use Pinterest now, but didn’t know about it/it didn’t exist for most of my wedding planning.

22.  Have you entered any giveaways on social media?

No.

23.  Do you partake in any wedding social media? (post of pages statuses, reply to tweets, etc.)

No

24.  What kind of social interaction do you want to have with wedding websites?

I used theknot.com’s local community message board, and that was incredibly helpful finding vendors and getting ideas.

25.  Do you think that the Internet helps plan the wedding? Why/ why not?

Definitely!  There are so many ideas online, you can pretty much just type in exactly what you are trying to visualize, and find a picture within a few seconds!

26.  How did you come to book your vendors? (online, magazines, Google, word of mouth, etc.)

Theknot.com’s South Florida message board!  It helped me find pretty much every vendor I used.

27.  What source of information would you consider more reliable/ credible? (statistics or poll results, word-of-mouth from my peers and family, or word-of-mouth online)

Word of mouth from my peers would be the most reliable/credible, but I was the first out of all my friends to get married, so I used word-of-mouth online and that was still very beneficial.

28.  Do you prefer face-to-face meetings or phone interviews with your vendors?

Definitely face-to-face.

29.  Are relationships with your vendors important to you? Why?

Completely! I want them to understand my vision.

30.  Did you go to a wedding expo? How many?

No

31.  Would you be interested in attending bridal workshops? Why or why not?

I possibly would have been, there was nothing that caught my eye.

32.  If you had to make a choice would you rather attend a series of wedding workshops or a bridal expo?

Probably just an expo since it would take less time.

33.  What types of bridal events would you like to go to if they offered?

Maybe ones about doing your own makeup/hair?

34.  What factors do you consider when deciding whether to attend a workshop? (price, location, etc.)

Times, location, and price

35.  Would you be interested in a bridal incentive program for a fee?

No, I don’t think so
