Dear friend,
Letter Drop Campaign
We can proudly say that we
currently stand at over 160 letter drops for next
Wednesday's Educate Congress Letter Drop campaign.
Last month we set a record of 226 – can we do it again this
month? This shows us also that our members really want to
get active during this important time for our country. We
will again try to move our progressive agenda forward. In
addition to the letter drops we will have “street heat”
actions in Massachusetts, New York, Arizona, California and
Illinois. Read about what we have planned as a “Thank You”
to Rep. Raul Grijalva in Tucson here.

Congressional and DC offices here and also read
the digest of June's drops here.
Issue Teams:
Last week guest speaker Lacey Kohlmoos, Senior Field
Organizer for Public Citizen's Global Trade Watch, joined
the Economic and Social Justice team call to update
us on Fast Track and the Trans Pacific Partnership, as well
as letting us know how to get involved locally, whom to
contact, and ways to make an impact. If you want to know
more, you can listen to the call here. For more information or to
become more involved with this team, contact Randy Shannon here.
Listen to last week's call with the End Mass
Criminalization team here,
as they endorse legislation from Sen. Rand Paul (yes,
you are reading that correctly!) They also discussed the
federal government's position in a recently decided 6th
Circuit Court case, ruling that the Fair Sentencing Act of
2010 is retroactive, plus other legislation. To find
out more, visit the team's page here, and contact the team here
to become more involved with this issue.
Listen to last week's call with the End Wars and
Occupations team here Guest speaker and outspoken
veteran, Zach LaPorte joined the call this week for
an eye opening conversation on the reality of war and it's
casualties. For more information, visit the team's page here or contact them here.

It's important not to forget
the great work that we did as a community last month to
help save the SNAP program. Here is board chair, Mimi
Kennedy, and members of PDA in Los Angeles at a
street heat action last month.
