Wild Week!

Dear friend,

Congrats Ed!

PDAers in Mass and across the county made Get Out the Vote Calls to help Ed Markey win the special primary election in April. He will now join Elizabeth Warren in the Senate, fighting for the 99%. Thank you to all of you who helped make this happen. Read the John Nichols piece, Austerity Loses in Massachusetts, here.

Letter Drop Campaign

As we close out June's letter drops it is important to remind ourselves that we had 226 letters dropped (our best ever) at Congressional offices around the country. We also visited 72 offices on Capitol hill, sent 22,054 email messages to 527 members of the House and Senate using our advocacy alert and made hundreds of phone calls since this battle began.  Read the digest of where these drops took place here. We will return again on July 19th and will have a planning call around this on Tuesday at Noon Eastern. If interested in joining this call please email Conor.

Issue Teams:

As always, lots of hard work and exciting developments on the ERA 3-State Strategy call, which you can listen to here. The team shared legislative updates, and Senate and House targets, discussed the "Rise Up" campaign, how to sign on to their Thunderclap on Twitter, plus the development of a phone banking team - and more!  To become involved with this Team visit their page here or send them an email by clicking here.

The Election Integrity Team call exploded this week as people called in from all over the country to discuss the SCOTUS ruling against the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and next steps we can take to correct this. You can listen to the call here, visit the Team page here, or contact the Team here to get involved. They are beginning work on a Letter Drop in response to this situation, and to examine other actions with our Stop Voter Suppression Team and coalition partners.

End Corporate Rule had a lot to report, having just come off their Letter Drop regarding amendments to reverse Citizens United. They gained many new co-sponsors for the legislation and continue to make a huge impact, especially now, as they begin to create working committees on big-agriculture and saving the postal service. Listen to the call here.Visit the Team's page here or drop them an email here to learn more.
