Thanks for keeping us on the ball and up to date Milf. You would never
guess you had a son that age - just too young at heart and to sight.
Bama - you just keep going and going. Always a new adventure with you.
I expect a December check-in for sure. Glad you got out for a babymoon
- so important and worth it!!
Caribou - you are AMAZING! Oh, and weird thing. You were in my dream
two nights ago. Yup, we were trying to coordinate to go back to the
same FD camp!! Ha ha. Another person running a marathon. Awesome!!
You're a trooper!
Clover - I could not do your job without losing it regularly (and
possibly punching someone). I am so so glad your health is good.
Monsieur Chalmers, garcon extraordinaire - A marathon eh? That is
crazy talk!! Good on ya!
Kale - where have you been darling? We had a big garden this year and
could have used some tips! Some successes and losses. How was your
summer season? How are your kids?
Foodie - Your program sounds fascinating and some day, I'll have to
get you to cook for me please and thank you.
Wildflower - You da man!! (although you act more like a boy!!)
Any recent updates on Fluff? How is Sprouts doing? And the rest of you
cool cats?
Here are a few pics of my little man. He's pretty awesome. He started
sleeping through the night before eight weeks (which probably only the
moms out there can appreciate). He talks and laughs more and more. We
are actually in Australia right now so that the other half of his
family could meet him. We went out for an early morning walk this
morning and found...a koala!!!! So cool.

It warms my heart to hear from all of you, and the extraordinary
things everyone is up, too!
I've had some very positive survivor experiences lately (following a
mess of a skin cancer surgery in September-- not because of the cancer
but because of side effects like allergic reaction to pre-surgery
injection and scratched cornea during surgery, then a really badly
infected seroma which I'm only just now realizing I should have
reached out to you all for advice about!). The great news: I don't
have any follow-up treatment for the melanoma. AND I've decided that
after brain, breast, and skin cancer, I won't be getting any more
cancer (which I'm very excited about)
Now the great survivor experiences:
1. I made the final round for the GE Cancer Survivor commercial that
Step Mom emailed about last month. The casting company had me clear my
schedule so I could fly in to film but 'the client decided to go
another direction' at the last minute. (So here's hoping that means
the commercial stars, say, a senior couple and some cute kids, rather
than a different blonde, twenty-something, female! lol) And I had
already imagined the commercial royalties paying for the wedding
(sigh). It was fun, though!
2. I found out this week that my SAMFund (Surviving and Moving
Forward: Fund for Young Adult Cancer Survivors) grant request is going
to be fully funded! The SAMFund is an awesome organization with a
mission statement that is very close to all of our hearts. I
definitely recommend checking it out: http://www.thesamfund.org/holiday/index.html.
I've been applying for two years now, but it was definitely worth it!
Other than that I've been splitting my time between family and work in
Chicago, and my fiancé Shane in Oklahoma City. One thing about
planning a wedding now, that won't happen until August is that I'm
getting all these coupon codes for free things I can't use yet, but it
sounds like some of you can make great use of them! (I'm thinking
Slash, Bama and MILF, especially, based on your news, but if anyone
wants them, let me know!) I've got online promotion codes for the
