Changing the name from CampKashIT to Barcamp Kashmir

Hi everybody,

 

What about changing the name of the event from CampKashIT to Barcamp Kashmir.

 

This will make the event more adapted in the community and will speak of its purpose.

 

Barcamp is a generic name and simply adding the location will serve our purpose.

 

What you say??

it is good to change the name of event. my sugestion is to organise camp after laund of icta as we can attract more people to camp after icta. we can use icta as platform to invite more people and companies

ICTA and Barcamp are two different things. Rather two thing on extreme
opposite directions.

ICTA is organization, BarCamp is unorganized
ICTA needs to meet at big places to attract attention, Barcamp can
happen even at someones home over noon chai
ICTA is conference, Barcamp is unconference.

ICTA members can also attend and/or be part of Barcamp. Barcamps are
ad-hoc conferences. These are geared towards attendant's interest. In
Barcamp no fixed schedule is prepared in advance. What happens at the
barcamp is decided on the Barcamp itself. If attendants decide they do
not want to listen to a particular talk they can go out of the room
and have their own talk in other room. Or have a hackathon or what
ever interests them. Idea is to get away from the structure and
routine and for one day do what ever you want to. If you don't want to
listen to Nazim's Drupal talk go to other room with other interested
people and have a talk on .net or on anything else.

You cannot have this freedom on ICTA.
