Can somebody tell me how to register mscomm32.ocx. I pasted it in system32 and then tried to register using "regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mscomm32.ocx" . Even then i got some error message something like this:"the file was loaded but it is unable to register error 0x8002801". I use 32 bit OS Windows 7I would be pleased if someone helped me with this.

You may need to run in it as an administrator. My recommendation would be to start a command prompt as the administrator (right-click on the Command Prompt icon in the Start menu and select "Run as Administrator").

Need some help from the experts here... I have installed windows 11 pro 64 bit and have an issue when I run my software. It seems to me that mcomm32.ocx is missing. I searched the net and the fix is not that obvious. Now I have the file ready to go, but which directory do I put it in, and what command do I issue afterwards?
Appreciate some help!! Thanks everyone...

Have just done as you suggested, it now all works! Thanks to you and cams for assistance. The program involved is a program I wrote in VB6 yeas ago and runs the house sprinklers, lights A/C and security.

Hi, today I will be doing a very short review about the mystical 51TNC APRS-box which is made in China. Just add ingredients such as proper data-cable + HT/Rig and you can turn it into iGate/Digipeater/Tracker or even WX-Station.

Configuration is done via TCP/IP API and this time I need to say that the software provided is actually quite usable. Here is some screenshots for the application itself. Please bear in mind that default IP is 192.168.1.120 so you need to configure your LAN / routing for that network too ?

I noticed that app needs atleast MS .NET Framework 4.0 installed. Try with that and report back to me if possible!
I have mailed to developer and requested more data about the device: howto aquire newer firmware, and howto update it (serial cable included in box should do it).
I have also requested would there be DNS addition to the TCP/IP settings in the future.

APRS is great amateur radio-based system for sharing tactical information among other ham fellows. For my usage I was looking for a low cost, small and batterywise solution on my hiking trips. I had Kenwood D72 HT earlier, but it ate its battery after 6hours of continuous APRS usage. Not good for longer hiking trips. Also when travelling in real wilderness without GSM and expensive satellite phones it would be nice for have a faint possibility to send location data via APRS. Of course I carry my HF QRP station also with me, but thats for the long distance calls and emergency use.

One of the late nights I came into a Ebay site with AP510 device. Okay, 1Watts output not so good but batterywise, small, and bluetooth connectivity for aprsdroid. Started to sound interesting doesnt it ?

Update AP510 on windows (or virtual win-environment). Examples are from Win 7. You should do this first as youre firmware is older than the application pack my blog is sharing. So first upgrade, then configure! .

For the last I saved up some installation pictures how I did case mod for the sdr+mk802+antenna for ultimate portable adsb unit ? Comments welcome! I will try to keep this blog entry updated more often as my fine tuning is fully completed ?

Some weird radio-bug bit me on the last Field Day event and I was destined to get me a new VHF handheld. My ham radio friend Harri (OH7HL) had Yaesu VX-150 (premodel of FT-250e) and instantly when I got home I started to look same kind of rugged and simplified radio. To my luck Yaesu had pushed in the market newer model which had a bit stronger audio output and added some features related to memory banks. I was ofcourse straight away hooking it up to the computer to notice only software available is something you pay for. Earlier paying for ft-60, ft-817nd, ft-270 software from same coder I decided that I wont waste my bucks for piece of software and try to do it old way and manual program I did. Took me up 2 minutes to configure handheld memory banks with simplex and repeater information, naming them would take a bit longer hi.

For short review this is very nice one band handheld to own if you like simple, made to last type design. One thing I would myself do a bit better is the back light on the screen, it is very very dim. Maybe future brings some modification suggestions who knows hi.

Last time when I blogged about Yaesu FT-1900 I went through programming rig manually fully but this time I ordered programming cable separately. I will update this blog entry after I have received the cable and dwelled into the abyss of programming this tiny monster.

UPDATE: after succesfully running this for some time im having some problems with the factory made mic. Problem is related to TX which for some reason is not activating at all the time. Seems I am forced to get me a new mic.

Typically, mscomm32.ocx errors are caused by attempting to load a corrupt or missing ActiveX control (Object Linking and Embedding control) associated with Hallmark Card Studio 2004 Deluxe. File replacement is typically the best and easiest way to resolve errors related to OCX files. As a last measure, we recommend using a registry cleaner to repair any invalid mscomm32.ocx, OCX file extension, and other file path references which could be causing the error message.

Even though most problems related to errors assocated with mscomm32.ocx should be fixed if placed in the correct directory, you should carry out a quick test to confirm. You can then re-open Hallmark Card Studio 2004 Deluxe to see if the error message is still triggered.

Broken registry keys caused by a missing mscomm32.ocx, moved mscomm32.ocx, or an errant file path reference from unsuccessful install (or uninstall) of Hallmark Card Studio 2004 Deluxe create these problems.

The use of externally-sourced files such as mscomm32.ocx create opportunities for encountering errors.Corruption of mscomm32.ocx happens during unexpected shutdowns, viruses, or other ActiveX-related issues. After corruption, mscomm32.ocx cannot load, prompting problems on running related software.

In rare occasions, mscomm32.ocx errors with ActiveX are due to Windows registry faults.Invalid references prevent proper mscomm32.ocx registering, creating problems with Hallmark Card Studio 2004 Deluxe.Moving a mscomm32.ocx, missing mscomm32.ocx files, or bad/leftover file reference from improper Hallmark Card Studio 2004 Deluxe install/uninstalls cause these to break.

First, let me give some background. As a retired IT guy, I have tried to stay away from Microsoft products in my personal life. I loved them when I was supporting them because they kept me employed, but I didn't want to support myself through all of the MS issues when I got home. For that reason I have been a happy, problem free Apple user for years.

Well, these two radios use programming software that only run on Windows, So I installed Windows 10 on my MacBook Pro using Parallels. The install went fine and other than the typical hours spent upgrading and patching a new Windows install, I was relatively pain free. I then installed the radio software and that's where the trouble started. The Baofeng software installed and opened fine, but when I try to download from the radio, it sits on "Handshake" until I close the program. The Radioddity software was more troublesome. Each time I tried to open it, it failed due to dependency problems. It kept locking for .ocx files. I rounded each file up and registered them until the program finally ran. Now when I try to read from that radio, I get Com Port errors. Sometimes I can get the program to recognize com3 but even then it will stall trying to download the config from the radio.

My guess is my issues stem from running Windows 10 on top of MacOS, but I wondered anyone else experienced an issue like this and if you resolved it? Since it's affecting both radios, I'm sure it's something to do with the Windows install and the complexities running one OS on top of another.

I'm certainly not a Mac user, so I can't comment on that or the use of "Parallels," but I think both of the radios you're trying to program may be supported by Chirp, a free (open source) application that can run natively on MacOS, Linux, or Windows. I personally use it on Linux with almost no issues. I think I encountered the "handshake" error once, and later realized that I had a com port issue or something like that.

I've also had success with several radio programming applications running on Linux using the Wine suite to emulate Windows. It generally works best if choosing an older version of Windows to emulate, such as Windows 7 or even XP. It doesn't work as well in Windows 10 mode however.

I was reading the "issues" page for Chirp, and there is a thread there about the Baofeng UV-9G. I believe the UV-9G support is either very new or still experimental/in development. The discussion there was happening in the last few days, and from what I read, they got it working, although I wouldn't expect to see an official UV-9G module added until the next release at the earliest.

I am certainly not an expert on Chirp or the differences between versions for various operating systems, but I think for the most part, once a module has been written for a particular radio, it will generally work across the different OS platforms.
