Regarding the Burning
In this presentation, in two parts and two voices, an anthropologist and a collective of image-makers will reflect on the effort to capture moments of burning, individual and collective, in their destructive and creative force.

Part one: Knots of the Soul
Through ethnography that moves from a psychiatric hospital to Quranic cures for madness in Morocco, Stefania Pandolfo reflects on shattering and the restorative work of liturgical form, linking the psyche and the soul, the intimate lives of individuals, and collective histories and futures.
Part Two: A Screening
Through documentary shorts presenting anonymous people engaged in revolution and war, the Syrian film collective Abounaddara seeks to find an aesthetic form to approach the instability of a human experience unfolding beyond good and evil.
