Sounds like you are going to have to send to Canon. I have had to send mine to them for issues. They do a good job.

Dear all,
my 7D was working perfctly until this morning whenever i pop up the built in flash the camera switches off automatically, i try to switch the camera back on but it wont, only when I remove the battery and put it back in the camera turns on.. the battery died, even after i charged it, immediately after i put it in the camera it died. i got a second one fully charged but the pop up flash problem is still on..
please help...

Thanks for the reply, I am shocked to have such problems after one year, my 22 years old minolta dynax 7000 is still working perfectly. Let's see what the repair shop say.

I had estimates done once for repairs on a lens locally and it was about as good as Canon in pricing. If your camera is less then a year old it might be covered under warranty. If its just under a year (I think 14 months) they will still honor it. I had an issue with mine and they ended up giving me a good deal with the camera being out of warranty.  Your 22 year old Minolta is a far less complicated piece of equipment.
