The AF-Drive button on top of camera has become disabled.

Somehow I have disabled the AF-Drive button on the top of the camera in front of the LCD screen. I used to be able to push the button and then choose one shot, AI focus, or AI servo in with the wheel in the LCD. But now I can't do that. I am wondering what I did wrong. I have looked in the manual but I am finding it kind of vague in places. Anyway, I can't find how to change it back.
