Hello,

I am trying to upload media to my Camelot survey and I keep getting the error message saying that the Timestamps do not fit within the session dates. I looked into it, and my photos do have a different, very wrong date, and I want to try to fix it. I am utilizing an older MacOS system (10.14.6). What would be the best set of steps I should take to change the dates on the photos so that they are correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Max Roberts

Hi Max,
I personally found Geosetter to be very helpful for this.

Hi Heidi,
I have the same problem. We are Mac users, as Max mentioned, and Geosetter in Windows-only software.

Digikam worked ok, but you have to edit manually all images. Give it a try Max.

Max, under this screen you should see a list of Mirrors. Choose any of them close by that has 100% and then download the executable file.

This should work. Also you can find previous versions here https://download.kde.org/Attic/digikam/

It would be awesome to have this function available in Camelot. I would save us a lot of issues.

Hi Heidi,

I would need an option that works with MacOS, so Geosetter does not work for me.

Antonio, do you know what I do to download Digikam when I get to this window after pressing download for MacOS? Also, do you know if there is a way to download past versions that are not from 2024?

Hello Antonio and Max,

If you are familiar with R coding, the camtrapR package has a function that may help you solve the problem, much faster than DigiKam.

Look for the section "Shifting date and time of images" in this link: https://jniedballa.github.io/camtrapR/articles/camtrapr1.html

Hope this is helpful,

Guido

Hi Max,

You may try XnViewMP (https://www.xnview.com/en/xnviewmp/#downloads) for batch changing timestamps (Tools/Change timestamp) by selecting all photos in a folder. Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
