Hi Chris/Heidi and the Camelot enthusiasts,

I am relatively new to Camelot and have searched through the forum to see if this question has already been answered, so sorry, if so, for reposting.
Is there any way to retain the original image filename once uploaded and analysed in Camelot?
For example, I have uploaded and analysed images (original filename e.g., IMG_0983) in version 1.6.9, however, once you download the full export csv, images are renamed (to e.g., 0d6e902d-a51b-4a7f-878e-180378c8ae29). This makes it difficult to work out which image is which to compare the full export with the original raw data. if you can't retain the original file name is there a way to revert it back to the original filename once analysed?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Gary

Hi Gary,

Once you upload a picture, Camelot creates a copy in its Media storage folder, and gives it a unique name, which is the name you see in the csv. If you go to the Media folder you will see it's not stuctured by Survey/Station, but rather by those names, and there can be photos from different stations in the same folder. These unique names avoid the issue that would be created by having the same file name for different photos. From what I've seen, you lose the original filename as soon as you upload it.
Can you provide more information regarding the information you want and what you are trying to compare?

Cheers,

Juan

Hi Juan,

Thanks, yeah I figured that. i was trying to compare pre-upload images to post analysed images. I thought there may have been a way to revert the media filename (once analysed) back to its original filename (pre-upload).
It would be great if images in the 'full export' came out in a chronological order.

Yeah that's tricky. There is a lot of information associated with each file in the database, including when they were uploaded, you could always order by those dates or the dates they were taken if you open the csv in EXCEL.
