Hi there,

I have stumbled upon a problem while uploading some of the images from our last session.

I get the error message "Translation missing". This only happens on two of the eight cameras (see attachment).

I wasn't able to find infos about this specific error in the docs or in this group.

So my question would be: What does that mean and what can I do to get rid of this?

Many thanks in advance.

Best,
Thomas

Can you upload one of the photos so we can test it?

Hi Thomas,

I've found which error doesn't have a description set correctly -- where it says "[Translation missing]" I believe it should actually say "Timestamp is outside of the session dates."

Could you please check the session dates against the date these images were captured?  I'll get the message fixed in the next release.

Thanks,

-Chris

Hi Chris

I am the one with the described problem, so I'll write to you directly.
I doubt, that the dates are the problem. I have tried to expand the session dates and I've modified the dates as well. So I'm sure, they are within the sessions.

For example, the upload of the attached image is not working.

Thanks for further information
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

I've released 1.4.2, which should fix the error message so we can eliminate that source of doubt.

Unfortunately Google helpfully replaces all of the image metadata when images are uploaded, so I can't confirm that it's as-expected.  You should be able to get around this by putting it in a .zip and uploading that.

Please try with 1.4.2 so we can validate the problem, and try uploading again.  If you could also screenshot the expected session dates, that'd be helpful.

Thanks,

-Chris

Hej Chris

Thanks for the answer.
We'll update Camelot as soon as possible.

Until then, I'll send you the zip file requested.
The sessions lasted from the 1.12.2017 until the 31.5.2018.

Hi Adrian,

That upload's much better, thanks. Though I'm not sure what happened to this image, but it seems to have no EXIF metadata at all.

The one piece of metadata Camelot needs in an image is the "Date/Time" field (or "Date/Time Original" field) populated with the capture time.

We've experience with Geosetter (https://www.geosetter.de/en/main-en/) for working with metadata, though it'd be a manual process to input the dates.

Hi and thanks for the answer.

You're probably right. The missing date seems to be the problem.

We try to figure this out.

Greetings
Adrian

Geosetter works really well for adding metadata to images
