Vegetable /Fruit Vendor :  I think this is a very good idea.  Some surrounding societies have done it they come in an open truck with veggies and fruit properly laid out but the guy should charge market rates only and not inflated rates, else the scheme will flop.    It will be helpful for the old and home bound who cant go to the market.

Segregation of Garbage :  Another thing which has crossed my mind is the segregation of wet and dry garbage.  Some years back at the AGM this resolution was passed and then it did not happen.  The society can purchase white and black bags at bulk rates and supply it to teach flat in which this is charged for in the  bi-monthly bills.  The white bags should be for dry garbage and the black for wet.  This practice is being followed in a flat I have in Pune and they are very strict, if you mix it a Rs. 20/- fine is levied on the spot and believe me the discipline is followed.    The dry garbage is taken away by the collectors and sold and disposed off by them directly. (that is a small amount we can permit them to earn on the side).  They cannot keep the garbage on the society premises even till evening.  The wet is also segregated by them and turned into vermiculture in one pit in the corner which is  then sold to residents /the society as manure at Rs. 15/- a gunny bag.  The other waste is put in the Municipal bins.   By this way we can help in cleaning up the city.  This is a suggestion only.

[R2 Federation] Weekly visit of the vegetable vendor

Dear All,

In our last meeting of the Federation, we had resolved to permit a vegetable vendor to set up stall once a week in the basement.

Mr Heblikar expressed concern about the proposed spot in the basement as the vegetable stall may interfere with the movement of vehicles parked there and there is also likelihood of damage occurring to the cars. In view of this, the vegetable vendor has been permitted to set up his stall near children's play area on the podium, between Frangipani and Calallily every Tuesday.

As of now, this is a short term experiment cleared till the end of March 2017.

Please share the details with your respective Societies.

Best wishes.
