Yah, i find it strange that it wasn't called xpadder.exe in the first place - i've been using the same version for some time though so may be the dev has started putting the version number in the program title, seeing as there is no easy way to find this info within the program itself - that i have found anyway.
Two things. I noticed today that my xpadder settings got wiped out for some reason but that may not be the issue you're having (I had a hard crash right before that). Try and launch the plugin configuration, if you get an error that the root node is missing then you'll have to delete the settings.xml and relaunch the configuration.
Son of a gun, you're right dazzle! I noticed I had to reload my xpadder controller layout file after the upgrade but didn't think anything of it. It seems that my settings stick but after a reboot they're gone again... This is on 8.1 so I think it was a recent Windows update that killed it for me.
dude, this is a great tutorial, but there is one thing.I use xpadder v.4.6 and i dont know how to load the xpadder into the mame arcade emu. could someone help me w/ this. i have mapped out all the keys and it creates an icon of a controller arcade.xpadder
Also I have tested with bluetooth+ps3 controllers+better ds3 before and they work fine. I can't remember if I tested them in conjuction with the 360 controllers or not. I do remember it being more of a hassle to set up than 360 controllers and they were not truly plug and play (needed a background program running on windows startup).
DS4Windows is still the best free gamepad emulator to use to date. But, if for whatever reason users would like to try similar software or find alternatives to DS4windows, this page can assist you with that.
