King To Attend the French-Speaking Countries Summit in Canada
Phnom Penh, October 16, 2008 AKP --
His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of the Kingdom of Cambodia, left here on Wednesday for Canada to attend the 12th Sommet de la Francophonie (French-Speaking Countries Summit) to be held in Quebec from Oct. 17 to 19.2008
The Cambodian monarch was seen off at Phnom Penh International Airport by Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Thamma Pothisal Chea Sim, National Assembly Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, and Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, as well as high-ranking officials of the parliament and government.
Foreign ambassadors to Cambodia and royal family members were also present on the occasion. The king is going to return to Cambodia on Oct. 21, according to his statement dated Oct. 11. 2008
