Hi everyone,

We are happy to confirm that Link Up will support the participation of

3 youth advocates to travel and participate in the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) in Indonesia, in November this year. Link Up can cover travel, accommodation and living expenses for selected youth advocates as well as convening a mentored learning opportunity. The youth advocates will also be ambassadors for Link Up, wearing Link Up t-shirts and promoting key messages that have emerged from the project, as well as asking questions and participating at the conference sessions.

We would like to ask your help in circulating this opportunity through your networks, and encouraging young people to apply! The criteria we propose to make the selection is:

1. Under the age of 24 years

2. Representing one of the key communities that Link Up prioritises

3. Has a letter of endorsement from a Link Up partner in their context, confirming that they can take the time to travel to Indonesia to participate

4. Can speak English or can confirm that they have identified someone already travelling to Indonesia for the ICFP who could translate for them

5. Is personally motivated to participate in the ICFP and be an ambassador for Link Up

6. Can identify a mentor who can support them to make the most of the ICFP experience and explain why they have chosen that person

To apply, please ask the young people to send an email addressing each of the selection criteria outlined above, including 100 words describing their motivation for wanting to participate in the ICFP, to me (Lucy -

Let me know if you have any additional suggested selection criteria - and also if you would like to participate in the selection panel. We would like to convene the selection panel on 1st September to make the decisions, and then start organising the logistics for visas, flights etc for the successful youth advocates. In making the selection, we will also look at representation from across the diverse partners and participants involved in Link Up.

FYI at the ICFP the Alliance will be having a booth, distributing some promotional materials for Link Up and our work in SRHR more broadly, and also supporting the youth advocates to have a mentored, meaningful, safe and fun experience in Bali. We hope that we can cross-promote Link Up and relevant materials through partner booths and presence as well at the ICFP. We will also have a standard slide with Link Up key messages and the project description for everyone who is presenting to please use to promote Link Up in their sessions as well.
