Dr. Anne Marie Goetz is one of the leading experts in the field of Women Peace and Security, and she is traveling from New York to Cambodia for the Regional Women's Hearing on Gender-Based Violence in Conflict
on the 10th and 11th of October 2012. UN Women seeks to build and strengthen partnerships between governments, civil society, other UN agencies and transitional justice bodies, with the aim of developing more strategic and coordinated
approaches to promoting gender equality from a WPS lens. As such, we are taking the opportunity to host a workshop with Anne-Marie Goetz that is open to the government, civil society, and individuals who are stakeholders in this process.
The objective of this workshop is to brief the participants on the WPS framework including United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (SCR 1325), and discuss on how to ensure coordination and cooperation
on the promotion of gender equality. The workshop will focus on the Cambodian context, by examining issues relating to women, peace and security while also and getting inputs from the relevant stakeholders.
This is a very exciting opportunity make an impact that has both local and international implications. Your involvement is key to continue to strengthen the efforts of UN Women and its partners in promoting
