I've found a load of 'Eurocoin' tokens in our loft. I have no idea
whether they're worth £1 each, 1p each, no cash value, or utterly useless.
You can see a picture at
http://i22.ebayimg.com/03/i/001/34/f2/ab54_1.GIF - I tried to sell them
on eBay but nobody was interested. Some of them have M|H|G on the back
instead of 'Eurocoin'. The diameter is 22mm.
So, a) could someone shed any light on what they're for, and b) would
anyone like them? You can have them for free if you want (unless they're
worth a fortune, in which case some recompense might be nice!).
Cheers,
Hamish

Probably tokens to get out of a private car park (like a hotel). They
might work those slots on supermarket trolleys too.

I'd got that far, but the ones I've got aren't on that list. They look
mass-produced and not bespoke; I was wondering if anyone in Cambridge
had seen them around here before (and might have a use for them!)

College laundry rooms sometimes use that kind of thing (Robinson did, at
least -- but not this particular one).
If your place has been inhabited by students, perhaps they nicked a big
box of the things?

Google also suggests:

which has a matching picture - and a price.

It looks like a jeton to me. You could get them from amusement arcades or
for things like air pumps at petrol stations. They generally had monetary
value i.e. you paid sixpence and got a token. I used to have a few although
not like this.
http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php?topic=627.0 leads to
http://www.intercol.co.uk/acatalog/Jetons.html and they have some of the
Eurocoin brand.

Bit of googling suggests you should take a holiday in Leeds this year.
I believe they are probably tokens for an ammusement/gambling machine of
some sort.
The tokens are probably made by this company...

These are the people that supply the gaming machines to bars all over West
Yorkshire including many in Leeds.
I'd think the most likely source was pub slot machines in the days
when prizes above a certain amount had to be paid in tokens, given
that there would have been very large numbers of the things in
circulation at the time. It wasn't unusual for them to be taken home
for a variety of reasons, such as an unwillingness to continue playing
a machine that's just paid out a largeish win.
