Hi

Does anyone know of a good fishmonger in Cambridge that gets fresh fish at
least a couple of times a week?

The only one I have been able to find is on Saturdays at the market. I hear
there used to be one called Jonathan W Brown on Milton Road but apparently
moved, does anyone know where?

Thanks

There's a very friendly and helpful chap with a van who drives from
Lowestoft and parks on Mitcham's Corner but he's only there on Wednesdays.

If you are prepared to go slightly out of town, the River Farm Smokery
does (very) fresh fish from Weds. to Sat.

Take the Newmarket Road out to the A14, take the second exit at the Quy
roundabout, staying in the right-hand lane marked "Newmarket", and it's
about a mile further on, just off a turning on the right.

Is that "Steve", who also parks in the centre of Sawston on Thursdays?

We buy a lot of fish from him.

Don't know, but sounds like it could be.

On or about 2008-11-19,
Kieran Mansley <kie...@NOSPAM.gtemail.net> illuminated us with:

I think he also visits other places. There is a fishmonger who sounds
his horn every Wednesday evening along our road, almost certainly the
same chap.

There's one that parks at the corner of Eltisley Avenue in Newnham Croft on
Saturday mornings before 12 (well I assume he still does). But he comes
from Peterborough.

the River Farm Smokery (www.riverfarmsmokery.co.uk) has fresh fish from
Thurs to Sat. If you give us a ring the day before we can get pretty
well anything you want. What's more we sell very good smoked fish. Or do
I mean excellent smoked fish?

I have bought some smoked salmon and pigeon from River Farm Smokery and it
was indeed excellent. I wasn't aware you sold fresh fish directly. I'll be
sure to visit!

Thanks,

I thought puffin' was illegal in shops nowadays?

I suppose it's ok in a smokery.

Hi
I now personally run the fish stall on cambridge market and open from 730am wednesday to saturday.
I travel daily to bring cambridge the freshest fish possible from lowestoft. Our traditional smokehouse in lowestoft, produce smoked fish daily for the jamie oliver group, billingsgate and local retail stalls.
We do a range of traditionally smoked products using the original methods. No dye, just naturally smoked the way it was intended.
Many thanks
