There are 3 unwanted calor gas bottles in my garage. 3 different sizes,
propane, butane, propane-patio gas. I inherited them from the pevious owner
and would like to get shot of them. If someone wants them then feel to
contact me and arrange collection otherwise I'd welcome (legal) ways to get
rid of them (presumably they still belong to Calor).

Cheers

There's a shop selling gas on Barnwell Road, perhaps they'd take them
off your hands.

I have a notion that there's a bin in the Milton Recycling Centre for
just such things.

There is -- keep going past all the skips and it's at the far end.

You can swap one size bottle for another at most Calor dealers.

You could try ebay. Camgas charge something like £30 deposit when you
buy a butane cylinder (if you don't have one to return). But, you have
to return the cylinder within a few months otherwise you lose the
deposit which means you now have a worthless cylinder. Maybe worth
seeing what the scrap metal dealers would give you for them.

Looks like empty bottles are going for about £5 - £6 each (15Kg ones)

Yes, and they'll happily sell you one if you need an empty to trade
in.

Thanks for that. Looks like I can't give them away but I might be able to
sell them :)

Actually I did (at 13.36 on 8th July) in response to your question.

"13kg Propane patio gas (green bottle)
6kg Propane (orange bottle, feels quite full)
4.5kg Butane gas (blue bottle)
"

I have someone else interested in them now but if that falls through I will
let you know via this NG.

They belong to Calor. The reputable free ads papers won't
take ads for them. There is an underground trade in them,
which starts with full bottles being stolen from gas dealers
and the perpetrators not wanting to take the empties back.
Why else would so many get fly-tipped, if they can be sold?
The Barnwell Road place had a lorry-load stolen a few
years ago. Perhaps they're already on to you!

Well TBH thats what I thought but if that's the case why are Ebay allowing
them to be sold there?
