Folks

As you know The Hug hosts the cam.* FAQ wiki <http://cam.misc.org.uk>
and I'm wondering if it's now time to drop the "Can anyone recommend a
good ...?" section.

There have been a grand total of eleven changes to wiki pages in the
last year, see <http://cam.misc.org.uk/home?do=recent>, all to the "Can
anyone recommend a good ...?" pages. Of those:

- two were SEO spammers (yesterday, which is what put this in my mind)
- one seemed to be some sort of vandalism (a "+" changed to a "-")
- two were probably good recommendations, but not from cam.* groups
- one was fixing links
- one was fixing opening times and a name change

So that left four which were actually were recommendations. More
significantly for me five of the eleven posts, so almost 50% of the
total, required some action on my part to clean up after the perp.

Moreover the recommendations we do have there are now, in many cases,
years old and I'm not sure how much use they are now anyway.

So I'm thinking of dropping the whole "Can anyone recommend a good ...?"
section and also making new users jump through a few more hoops to register.

Does that seem sensible?
