Hello all,
my 15-piece jazz orchestra Harmony In Harlem are performing Duke
Ellington's take on the seasonal Tchaikovsky favourite - The Nutcracker
Suite - at Great St Mary's Church on Thurs 30th November, 7:30pm.
Tickets £15 online or cash at the door:

The Nutcracker suite forms half of the concert, the remaineder of the
evening being a selection of the band's authentic recreations of regular
Ellingtonia from the 1930s and 40s.
Our performance at Great St Mary's church in the heart of Cambridge
comes 50 years after Duke Ellington and his Orchestra were invited there
during the tour of Ellington's first Sacred Concert. The event was
described by the Cambridge News as possibly "Cambridge's greatest ever
music gig". Alongside The Nutcracker Suite, Harmony In Harlem will pay
tribute to the 50th anniversary of that concert at the University Church
by performing the opening movement "Praise God" of Ellingon's Second
Sacred Concert.
