"Mobile Design & the Death of Narrative"
‘Making it work on mobile’ has never been an inspirational expression of design intent. At best it has always been a perfunctory nod to the influence of a disruptive delivery mechanism. Some kind of awkward realisation that if you’re not thinking mobile, you’re not thinking now.
As we begin to think mobile first and challenge the established publishing models, designing for mobile enables us to realise the benefits of responsive frameworks, gesture-based interfaces and a new fluidity of control.
But we’re doing something terribly wrong.
Tim Caynes is Head of Interaction Design at Flow Interactive, based in Norwich and London. He has been working in digital design for over 15 years, which makes him sound quite old, because he is.

"Mission impossible?: Global charter, remote channels, twenty customers and two researchers…"
This talk will present a case study of a research project that challenged the status quo of an enterprise software beta program in bringing together customers, teams, and data across 8-hour time zone differences.
You'll hear about how we experimented with tools, tasks, and team responsibilities as we led more than 30 customers through a high-touch user feedback program that included data collected from video responses, surveys, remote observations, and community posts to identify both near-term and next-generation product improvements.
