Hi Yến,

Thank you for inviting me to the gathering on Sunday. It was a warm welcome for me, especially back to the building it used to be called Student Union Building, now MLK.

We had many meetings there, in Tan Oak and Madrone Room in the early days of VSA. So it brought back lots of fond memories.

I still come to the campus, usually during the weekend because I like to read and check out books from Doe which has a good collection of books about Vietnam.

I am glad to know that you study French. I've been there couple times and love it.

Let me know when the cultural show is about to happen so I can contribute some monies.

- Chú Phú

P.S.: Hope you like the photo

Kính gửi Chú Phú,

My name is Yen, and I am the External Affairs Vice President of CalVSA. It was such a pleasant surprise meeting you for the first time a couple weeks ago during our tabling session. I hope you are doing well and that the holiday season is bringing lots of cheer and warmth despite the weather!

I wanted to personally invite you to the upcoming VSA Alumni/Professional Reception that I mentioned briefly to you that day. This event is taking place of our banquet this year and will be a great opportunity for alumni and members to reconnect on a professional level. The nature of the event is to provide a space for alumni to share and maybe even outreach to undergraduates about their professional experiences while still maintaining a warm VSA atmosphere to incorporate alumni back into the CalVSA space. There's also a great diversity within VSA alumni in terms of career plans and post-graduate paths that you will all be a great resource for current VSA members thinking about their future.

I'm hoping you'll be able to attend because you'll be great person to talk to about VSA's history. You can discuss your projects, and possibly your involvement within the Vietnamese community. Plus, I'm sure many of us would like to meet one of the founders of VSA (:

Here are the necessary details:

Linked VSA: Professional Reception highlighting CalVSA Alumni
Sunday, December 4th, 2:30-4:30pm --doors will open at 2:00 for mingling
Madrone, MLK
Dress Code: Business/Professional
Cost: For alumni, FREE (: For members $7, for non-members, $10

Please RSVP to me by midnight, Friday, December 2nd

Thank you for reading the email, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving && hope to see you soon! (:
