Hello Everybody!

I received this email about a fundraising opportunity. It's not that much, but every bit helps, right? And basically, all we have to do it post links on our website, so maybe we can just have a sponsorship tab on our website?

This most recent email from the org kind of sums up the process.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO I CAN RESPOND ASAP!

Great, glad to hear you're interested in getting started!

Nope, you're not paid based off clicks or hits to your page - you are paid a fixed monthly amount that will bring you $120.00 per year per sponsorship link we acquire for you.  So you are guaranteed your earnings no matter what!  And there's no fine print - it's pretty straight forward :-)

At this point, to move forward acquiring sponsorships for your organization, all we need to know is the following:

·         URL address of website

·         Webmaster email

·         Confirmation your webmaster is ready to place links within 36 hours of receiving the sponsorship link information from us

Note that if your organization has more than one website, or you work with multiple organizations, we can provide sponsorships to each website to maximize the amount your earnings.

Looking forward to bringing you sponsorships and helping to fund your organization!

Best,
Alex

Hello Amar,

Thank you so much for contacting me with this fantastic offer! I was wondering if I could get more information on this before pitching it to my group?

As you have said, there will be no monetary costs to us, so all we have to do is put your link on our website? So may I ask what it is that we will be getting paid for and how that payment is determined? (also, if there is any fine print we should know?)

Thank you once again and I look forward to your response!

Candace

Hello,

Congratulations, we would like to sponsor your organization!  I see that you are listed as the contact for your Berkeley organization webpage - we would like to pay you to place sponsorship links on the homepage of your website and will pay you between $120.00 and $1,000.00 per link per year.

Our company connects student groups looking for new, easy fundraising opportunities with companies looking to provide funding to student organizations.  In turn for their financial support, all our sponsors ask for is a link on your website as a thank you for their contributions.

An example of a webpage currently placing sponsorship links similar to the ones you would receive is http://cgi.duke.edu/web/dukechess/ (see the Call Center Outsourcing link at the bottom of the page).  We would email you the sponsorship links that need to be placed on your webpage with the HTML code and your organization would simply add the link to your webpage.  All our sponsorship links are of appropriate material, but if there is a particular sponsorship link that your organization does not approve, you may ask for another link instead. Payments are made by check or PayPal on the 15th of each month, and if your organization is unhappy for any reason you may terminate the deal at any time.  There is no monetary cost to your organization at any time whatsoever - all you do is place links on your website and receive ongoing payments every month!

For more information about our company or about this sponsorship opportunity, please refer to our webpage at http://www.sponsorourclub.com. Please email me back with any questions or concerns. To move forward from here, all you need to do is let us know that you are willing and able to place these sponsorship links on the homepage of your website within 36 hours of receiving the link information from us. Then we will send you the sponsorship links and your organization can begin receiving monthly checks!

Best,
Amar

Thank you Candace. I think this is a good way to fundraise. It doesn't cost us anything on our part. We can always give it a try and if it doesn't work out, we can always terminate the deal. However, input from any former web admins and current web admin (Ryan, Steven, and Andre) would help the non-techy folks.

Also as a fundraising idea, maybe we can start a sponsorship part on our website, where we can contact businesses that if they sponsor us (donations, or something) we will put their ad on our website? Just an idea. If it's bad or you don't agree, don't mind me. I've been studying too much and is turning itno lunatic.

I agree with you, Diana. It's definitely not a crazy idea at all. Like I mentioned before, we will need a sponsorship tab or something for all of these links and I guess we can just add all those other sponsors to our site like GreenChoiceMoto and TuttiFrutti too!

Good luck with your studies everyone! The week is dead, but I hope you're alive! :D
