In the past few days, I've been unable to add Netflix shows to the watch list (when I try to add a show, it does nothing). Tried deleting and reinstalling the Netflix channel but same problem is occurring. I'm able to add shows from other devices (like my smartphone) so seems like it's a Roku issue more than a Netflix issue. Haven't noticed issues with any of my other channels. Using the roku stick.

can someone tell me how to do a hard reset on my roku? i have an old one for an old tv and all of a sudden netdlix is saying "too many people on my account"- but i am the only one! netflex said to call roku and ask for a hard reset but of course there is no one to call.

Try removing the channel from the Roku home screen by navigating to the channel tile, pressing the * key on your remote and choosing 'Remove channel'. Then restart your device from Settings>System>System restart. Once your player starts up again, add the channel back once more. Does this clear up the issue you are seeing? Please keep us posted what you find out.

How many channels do you have on your Roku device? We would recommend removing unused channels from your Roku device, then restarting your Roku device. Once your device has restarted, try adding the Netflix channel again.

Can you please provide more specific information about the issue you are experiencing? What Roku model device are you having this issue with? Have you removed unused channels on your Roku device? After removing those channels, have you tried restarting the Roku device before trying to add the Netflix channel? If you are still seeing the issue persist, are you seeing an error message on screen?

We just got a new TCL Roku TV (50S535) and had this same problem with Netflix not installing saying there wasn't enough memory. I ended up doing a factory reset of the TV via the advance settings menu option, and then during the new subsequent initial setup I selected the streaming services we subscribe to (YouTubeTV, HBO Max, Netflix, and Amazon Prime), but I opted not to select any preferred content types so it wouldn't try to pre-install any of those related channels. After the setup process finished the Netflix app was on the home screen and it works just fine now. Hopefully this will work for others here having this same problem.

I was sitting watching TV Netflix on roku and it just logged me out. When I logged back in it said I needed to activate my roku device. So I did that and when the reactivation was complete every app was gone. Even though when I go to roku app and search for all the channel apps I had everyone says they are installed, but nothing is on my TV to choose from.

Channels cannot be deleted via the web site, only on a Roku device. Since you have multiple Roku devices, it's possible that someone accidentally deleted the channel on one of the other devices, which would remove it from all devices linked to that user account. It's possible it won't allow you to reinstall the channel until all of the Roku devices on that account have been rebooted.

@Crolson Someone probably got into your account after they bought their own Roku and deleted all of the apps from your devices or something like that. Hopefully @RokuKariza-D or someone else at Roku will explain to you more in this situation.

OK, here's another thought. Someone went into your Roku user page ( ) and removed that one specific device from your account. It won't let you install anything because it's not connected to a specific user account. Go into your Roku device that is not working correctly, go to the Settings/System/About page, and see what it says about the user account it's linked to. It might show your account, or it might be blank, I'm not certain what it might do if it's been deleted from your user account. Make note of the serial number, then log into your Roku user account and look if that serial number is still listed under your devices. My guess is it's not listed.

If it has been unlinked from your account, the only way to get it back is to do a factory reset on the Roku in question and set it back up as if it were brand new. Once that is done, any channel attached to your account will automatically be reinstalled on that device. I realize you said you had to reactivate it, but something went haywire during the process I believe.

@RokuKariza-D Not an ideal solution, but I created a new roku account then factory reset the roku and signed in with the new account. Now Netflix works. So looks like an issue with the old roku account somehow. At least I can watch Netflix. LMK if Roku is not planning on fixing this and I'll put in a request to delete my old account.

I can log into Netflix and view previews. But, when I attempt to play individual episodes it loads up to 25% and never plays the episode. I have restated my Roku, deleted the Netflix channel, signed in and out and restarted my modem and router to no avail. Not sure if this is a Netflix or Roku issue.

You mentioned that you already tried removing the app. Did you restart your Roku device before re-installing the channel? That step is crucial when performing the troubleshooting. If you haven't tried the suggested order (remove > restart > re-install), we would recommend giving it a shot once again.

Thanks for your reply. The issue is only occurring for Netflix. I tried the suggested order of removing the app, restarting the Roku and re-installing, but that did not work either. I have done the system restart from the settings many multiple times as well. I'm not sure what the issue is here.

When problems are confined to a particular channel, it may be that the channel didn't install properly, that it didn't update correctly, or that the installation has otherwise gotten corrupted. A reinstall may fix the problem, so give it a try.

Remove/reinstall procedure:

Since you are still unable to play videos from one channel after attempting the suggestions above, videos from other channels play fine, contact the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help. Channels on Roku are maintained by the channel developer themselves. In this case, there's likely an issue within that specific channel that needs to be addressed with an update from them.

I had to do a RESTART of Roku TV before autoplay previews stopped. SETTINGS -- SYSTEM -- POWER - SYSTEM RESTART. Do not have an external Roku device to know if it has RESTART option in Roku OS menu or just do a power cycle of unit.

Is this a Roku TV or an external Roku device? I would double check playback settings in web browser to make sure the autoplay previews box is unchecked. If still an issue, I would try the old remove the Netflix app, restart/recycle your Roku device, reinstall the Netflix app and then login.

Same here. I verified that auto previews are disabled on my laptop via running Netflix in my browser. I first tried switching profiles and then switching back and the previews were still auto-playing. Then I restarted Roku and the previews were still auto-playing. Then I uninstalled Netflix app from Roku, restarted Roku, reinstalled Netflix app and re-signed in. The previews are still auto-playing. Ugh!

Same problem here on all 4 Roku's ... both Roku OS and Netflix app are up to date and Netflix account settings are correct. Tried restarting the Roku as well, but auto-play is still there. I changed my Netflix settings as soon as they announced the change 2 days ago and would really like to get rid of the ultra-annoying auto previews.

i have a roku premiere. i turned off previews and restarted netflix, but it didnt take. then i restarted my roku and it now works. i used the remote shortcut to reboot, i dont know if that works any different than cycling power or rebooting through the menu. and the previews stopped.

i did not try re installing netflix or signing out and in. rebooting worked on the first try.

you could also try the fire tv driver. i use it with my shield tv to control it and it support everything except amazon prime video launching. just have to be able to turn on adb debugging and it should work just fine.

You will still be using the IR driven box etc and with programming and testing rates and you being the crash test dummy of this idea I would think that $100 of hardware and free drivers with IP control that does what it says on the tin reliably every day is the way to go, not a potentially frustrating 'we think we can make this work' solution, additionally any other roku channel you like can move to that screen, Vimio, YouTube, and so on.

Similarly in the US if you want cable, historically steering the user to a Tivo box gave a better user experience and fewer problem calls than making the IR cable box work perfectly. The right hardware saves lots of frustration later.

The Roku that I have was connected to the
TV . I needed to use the remote input on the Fios to get to a different place. That would bring up Netflix which I pay for. Roku was one of the choices. If I pressed the Home tab on the roku I could acsess the network that I wanted along with Netflix.
