BOAA Field Trip: Vegan Art Show and Oakland Veg Week
Wednesday, 4/18, 5:30 pm
Instead of having a meating, we are going to Erica's Art Show. Erica is a BOAA member and artist and it's her senior show! And it has to do with animals! Check out the facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/events/340034026045999/
There'll be food and afterward, if you're 21, we'll hit up Vitus in Oakland for Brian Grupe's band's performance and Vegan Drinks. If you're interested in coming, email me or the gossip list so we can coordinate getting to the art show together. We'll probably leave campus around 5 or 530.

Peter Singer on Campus!!!**
Tuesday, April 17th, 4:00 pm, Toll Room, Alumni House, UC Berkeley Campus
Peter Singer wrote Animal Liberation, which is widely considered the seminal text of the modern animal rights movement. He's going to be talking about Happiness and the Ultimate Good. Check out more information here: http://grad.berkeley.edu/lectures/event.php?id=758&lecturer=489
**Peter Singer is highly controversial. Highly controversial in that I think he's a blithering, masculinist idiot. His politics on women, people of color and disability are really whack. Nonetheless, that doesn't mean he hasn't made a huge impact and he's probably one of the three most influential philosophers in the US today. Also, he's not vegan himself, I think. Anyway, I'll probably be there even though this talk probably won't have anything to do with animal justice.
