Thanksliving
Wednesday, 11/16/11, 10 - 2 pm, Sproul Plaza
November means turkey month and at BOAA that means we recognize the extreme losses of life that this month commemorates. In order to advocate for a more compassionate unthanksliving dinner this year (and stand in solidarity for the genocide of native american peoples that colonialization has meant), we'll be passing out free samples of vegan food on campus. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to help cook in the morning, transport the foods, and man the table from 10 - 2. SIGN UP HERE!: http://www.doodle.com/eu2vkc8ycxf8hyst
WE NEED SOMEONE WITH A CAR! to pick up food on Monday or Tuesday afternoon and then also someone who can drive on Wednesday at around 10 to help transport the good and help set up. email me: amman...@gmail.com and I will love you forever!

Half Marathon for Harvest Home

If anyone is interested in training to run a half-marathon on December 31st in Castro Valley (just south of Oakland), to benefit the animals of Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary, they can sign up for the google group: http://groups.google.com/group/harvest-home-heroes-team
Our next recruitment event (Sports Basement Shopping Party in Walnut Creek) is on Saturday, September 24. More details about this awesome event are online: http://www.facebook.com/public.emily1?ref=ts#!/event.php?eid=169788183097112. Major props to Dana Portnoy for making this event happen!

Food Empowerment Project: NOW HIRING!
The Food Empowerment Project is seeking someone who can help develop an iphone app. Please let Lauren Ornelas, ltor...@gmail.com, know if you can help. FEP is truly an incredible organization that connects veganism to other social justice issues, such as food justice, environmentalism, and environmental justice.
