Hi everybody,
For four months now we have been grinding along, step-by-step, watching unprecedented challenges, not just for Boston Baptist College, but for our nation and the world. I don't see how any of us can ever be the same after the loss of life in the pandemic and the heartbreaking scenes of murder, violence, racism and hatred that have shaken all people of good will. I've missed being with all of you to process our way through these times, to pray together, to talk and listen to each other, and to hear from heaven together.
I've missed the camaraderie of learning, the buzz in the hallways and the laugher in the cafeteria. I am miserably tired of looking at and walking through empty buildings.
But I am beyond happy to announce officially today that we will reopen for the fall semester IN PERSON here on our campus! Classes will be live, and in just a few weeks we will resume our best efforts to pour our lives into each other and grow Christian minds to serve the Lord in the 21st century.
We have made no decisions lightly. We also realize that we have to stay on guard and adjust and adapt as necessary. Yet we are confident that we have received voluminous wise counsel, and we have made changes to almost all aspects of our operations. Attached to this email is a lengthy explanation of both our rationale for regathering in person, and many specifics about how campus will be different when we start the fall semester of 2020!
We will be together SOON! Please be certain to be watching for an email from our Registrar about scheduling your return to campus. Keep taking precautions to stop the spread of COVID-19.
I can't wait to be together again in August!
