Nature Walk Friday Sept 23

I am organizing some nature walks on a few Fridays this fall (about every other, depending on weather and such).  The first will be this Friday September 23.  We will meet at Peavy Arboretum's Woodland Trail at 10:30am.  This dirt trail is a short 0.4 mile loop with interpretative signage along the way. The trail is shady. 

Peavy Arboretum is north of Corvallis off Hwy 99 on Arboretum Road (across from Adair Village).  The Woodland trail parking lot is on the right behind the lodge. 

I will wait in the parking lot 15 minutes till 10:45m before heading out on the trail.  We will pack a lunch if you are interested in joining us. 

Disclaimer: I am not a nature specialist, I will not be teaching a nature class.  I am just a mom with the desire to enjoy nature with my boys. My boys (ages 8, almost 5, and 2) will most likely bring their nature journals in their backpacks, but usually they do not pull them out and write in them.  Feel free to join us without any obligations to stay with the "pack", this is just an organized opportunity to help you get your kids into nature. So if you want to stop and journal for awhile or investigate further, do so.  

The next walks will likely be Oct 7, then probably Oct 21 and Nov 4 (dates subject to change).

Boardwalk by Old Mill School (Brook Lane area)

Starker Forest Interpretive Trail (Blodgett)

Fort Hoskins Interpretive Trail

Let me know if there are other locations that would be good nature outings (Albany area??).  What kind of outings are you interested in?

Darn, I forgot. I didnt get on the computer or check my planner yesterday. Today is Zemirahs birthday and she would have loved that for her day. DONT give up Pattee! I hope somebody made it. I am hoping to make it next time. I missed moms night too..... :( next time I hope and GOD willing.....
