I'm not sure if anyone has heard or seen this info yet but my co-
worker just informed me this morning that the Caltrain SF office is
permanently closing as of Oct. 9th.
They're no longer selling Muni passes either. She asked how things
will work going forward for those of with commuter checks and/or those
of us who purchase parking permits. The attendants reply was that they
didn't know how that is going to work out yet.
Talk about mis-communication and mis-organized.
They're pushing people to move towards the clipper card yet they're
not making the transition easy and not providing sufficient info nor
do they have the right resources to help with our questions.
This is getting ridiculous!

Parking permits are sold via machines in stations with no counter staff.  I am sure there will be an adjustment period, but most stations haven't had a living body at them for years.

Right but that doesn't help those of us that use commuter checks and purchase monthly parking passes.

Can you actually use commuter checks for monthly parking passes?

I typed about 4 ways I thought you could get it to work and none of
them made sense in the end. You might be stuck going to San Carlos HQ.

I've been using my commuter checks for parking passes for almost 4 years now.

Caltain tickets (including monthly, 8-ride passes) can be bought using
commuter checks and loaded to the Clipper cards at Walgreens. Clipper
site has list of participating Walgreens locations (and of those on
the list, not every location will accept commuter checks).

From my experience, it takes at least 30 mins to complete the purchase
since Walgreens staff is very new to this whole process (and commuter
checks complicate the purchase). Parking permits are not available
through Clipper yet.
