Guns N' Roses are not exactly known for their quick turnaround time with new music, but the band no sooner released a new single "Perhaps" than they announced the impending release of their next song, "The General." The track will appear as the B-side to the vinyl single "Perhaps," which ships on Oct. 26.
"The General" will mark the fourth song released by the semi-reunited Guns N' Roses lineup featuring Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan. The band last issued new music in 2021, with the releases of "Absurd" and "Hard Skool."

Given their success it's unsurprising that Hulu picked up Sarah J. Maas' fantasy novels for a live action adaptation. The A Court of Thorns and Roses story follows a 19-year-old named Feyre who meets a wolf, a moment that puts her in danger with the fae. She ends up in a magical kingdom, is held prisoner, and soon starts to fall for her jailor. However, he has great secrets of his own. This led to Hulu picking up the ACOTAR series and bringing in Ron Moore (Outlander) to co-adapt A Court Of Thorns And Roses with author Sarah J. Maas herself. There isn't much more known about the show, and a release date still has yet to be finalized for the ACOTAR series, but development has been ongoing, with more concrete news on the future of Hulu's A Court of Thorns and Roses likely due in the not-to-distant future if recent updates give any indication.
It was Sarah J. Maas herself who revealed the exciting A Court Of Thorns And Roses news that her book was coming to Hulu as a series. Not only did she announce the live-action ACOTAR show, but Maas revealed that she would work as one of the co-creators of the TV series, alongside Ron Moore. Screnwriter Ron Moore also created the fantasy series Outlander, also based on a novel series, and the sci-fi remake of Battlestar Galactica. However, when it comes to the A Court of Thorns and Roses release date, there is no telling when it will arrive.
"I have a couple updates, and this is all rumored," the voice in the clip says. "Somebody says that they have a friend at Hulu who said they just got the scripts for the first four episodes, but it's not going to shoot until later this year [or] early next year. So there's no casting yet."
Our other major piece of news is that Mask of the Rose now has a clear release window. We now plan to release it in late October or November this year. Unfortunately, this is four or five months later than we estimated for the Kickstarter.
A number of GN'R fans have reported that the shelved "Chinese Democracy"-era song which was originally expected to be officially released this past Friday (August 11) populated on TouchTunes machines at bars and other locations across the United States. As the fans showed up at their favorite watering hole and went to play a GN'R song, they noticed the new selection in their catalog. The track came with what is apparently the official single cover art, and was attributed to Geffen Records, which is the band's longtime record label home owned by Universal Music Group.
This is not the first time that there have been reports of songs prematurely appearing on TouchTunes. In April, fans of the American country band TURNPIKE TROUBADOURS were surprised to see a previously unreleased track called "Mean Old Sun" on the entertainment platform with 65,000 connected jukeboxes.
Last week, a link to pre-save "Perhaps" on Spotify and Apple Music was briefly shared via the Universal Music web site, along with a release date of August 11, but there has been no official announcement from the band yet regarding the song's imminent arrival.
In September 2021, the guitarist and his bandmates dropped "Hard Skool", which came more than a month after their performance and subsequent official release of "Absurd", a reworking of GUNS N' ROSES previously unreleased "Silkworms".
According to Slash, several other older GUNS N' ROSES tracks have also been reworked during the pandemic. "There's a handful of those songs that we actually fixed up and did when we were in lockdown," he explained to "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk". "So those have yet to be released. So those are gonna come out. They're really good, too. So I'm excited for those. We're just gonna put out like one or two songs, and another one or two songs. And I think that's gonna be pretty much all of 'em. I'm not sure exactly how many we did in total."
In case you missed it, Perhaps leaked last night via a jukebox at a bar. Pick a local bar with TouchTunes and you, too, can go listen. A release on streaming platforms surely is imminent but we will never forget the night of August 12th. pic.twitter.com/du6JaQk9s8
Guns N' Roses recently released two new songs named "Hard Skool" and "Absurd," which fans were quick to point out were from the Chinese Democracy era. And while that's been fun to listen to, guitarist Slash pointed out in a new interview with Guitar World that the band is currently working on brand new material due out soon enough."There's new Guns material coming out as we speak, and we'll probably keep putting it out until the entire record's worth of stuff is done and then put it out solid. It's cool. I'm enjoying working on the stuff and having a good time doing it."No word on if both "Hard Skool" and "Absurd" will be included on the new album, especially since Slash makes it sound like singles will just keep coming out until there's an entire album's worth available. Either way, the new Guns N' Roses record will be their first since 1993 to feature Slash and bassist Duff McKagan.Guns N' Roses is also plotting a deluxe reissue of their 1991 albums Use Your Illusion I & II for this summer.Want More Metal? Q: Does ROSE run on MacOS/Linux/Steam Deck/etc?
A: We currently only provide official support for Windows. However, ROSE is compatible with other platforms by using compatibility software. We will provide more information about this at a later date.
As of February 2023 we've currently had no word as to whether there will be a second season of Red Rose or not. However, with the series having just launched on Netflix and picking up significant additional interest following its BBC Three release last year, we imagine it could certainly play a factor in whether the show returns or not.
Maas' next release is "House of Flame and Shadow," the third installment in her "Crescent City" series. It will be published on January 30, 2024. (There are spoilers ahead for the series, so read on with caution.)
The next "Crescent City" novel will be released worldwide at the end of January, but Maas also announced on Instagram that she is releasing special editions of the book at specific booksellers in the United States with bonus chapters about different characters, including characters that originated in "Crescent City" and those that were written for "ACOTAR."
And during the "Live Talk" with Billings and Hobbs, Maas revealed she is currently writing the next novel in the "ACOTAR" series. She didn't announce when she would be finished with the book, when it would be released, or any details about its plot.
If the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are magically resolved tomorrow and it turns out that Hulu has scripts they are ready to move on, the earliest release date A Court of Thorns and Roses could get is probably early 2025. Lavish fantasy series typically take at least 18 months to two years to produce a season.
The dramatic series took the world by storm, detailing murder, mistreatment, and deception. Gypsy Rose Blanchard was at the centre of the unusual story and convicted for involvement in the murder of her mother, but where is she now and could she be released from prison soon?
