Hi all!

I'm looking for opinions on the best place to sleep for my first 600k. I know there is no "best" but for those who have done it, where did you sleep? It seems like the consensus is King City.

Yes, usually King City is the stop for sleep. The question is, before you go to the turnaround in San Ardo or after?
(For fast riders, they might consider the small hotel in Greenfield on the return, but that doesn’t get used too often. I would suggest checking in on the outbound leg to get your key.)
Either way, there are usually headwinds on Sunday, so don’t stay too long in King City.

There is a 24-hr Denny’s in King City near the hotels if you want hot food at night. Also, La Plaza Bakery in either King City or Greenfield has great burritos for hearty  fare. Both are near the brevet route, but not quite on it. Or, if you only need pocket food in King City, there is the 24-hr Arco mini-mart near the freeway interchange or the  7-11 on Broadway. South of King City about 3 miles, is the 24-hr Valero at Wild Horse Rd. Be sure to fill pockets and bottles for the 38-mile round trip to San Ardo and back during the wee hours of the night.
San Ardo has a little store that opens around 6 AM on Sunday if you are running late(ish).
