This past Saturday the Santa Cruz Randonneurs hosted the HMB-Marina 300k brevet. It is a challenging ride that explores the coastal hills and farmlands that lie between Half Moon Bay and Marina on an out-and-back route
with a Santa Cruz start/finish. The weather was cool and breezy, but most of the participants reported having a good ride and enjoying the course. Three riders did the brevet solo, but the others cycled in small groups and seemed to enjoy their long day in
the saddle together. In the end, nobody DNF’d and all ten starters earned their brevet -- chapeau!
All in all, it was a very good day of long-distance cycling in the Monterey Bay region.
Finishers:
Renato Arnoco
Manny Brahman
Poppy Krasnova
Dominique Ly
Richard McCaw
Pierre Moreels
Linh Nguyen
Seth Tenscher
Sang Tran
Wayne Young
Next Up: The San Gregorio-Greenfield 400k brevet on Saturday, May 10 at 6 AM. Lights, reflective vest and ankle bands
required. Route info and entry registration can be found at:
