Hello Randonneurs,
On Monday, April 8, we’ll be hosting our Voie Berg 300 km brevet to honor our longtime friend and American Randonneur recipient, the late Bruce Berg. Our original plan was for a scenic loop on Bruce’s favorite roads that traversed the beautiful Big Sur coastline, but the ongoing CalTrans road repairs south of Big Sur will not be completed in time, so we are going to Plan B with an out-n-back route that will still be worth doing. The start will be early in the morning in King City, then up and over Cahoon summit and drop down to Carmel Valley, thence out to the coast at Carmel, and then south to Big Sur and 150 kms done. From there it is a u-turn to retrace the route back to King City. It will be a scenic ride amidst our beautiful spring scenery, and with less traffic than on the weekend. Jack Holmgren will be the ride organizer and can help you if you have more questions.
