Hi,

In response to the verification of multiple cases of community transmission of COVID19 in San Luis Obispo County, we are notifying members of our current plans for club operations going forward:

  • All build days are canceled for the rest of the academic year. All project teams are encouraged to work remotely.

  • Officer elections and meetings will be held virtually.

  • We will notify members of changes to these policies via the club Slack.

  • The club room is closed for all projects except by pre-arranged scheduling of groups of no more than 4 people.

  • The club room is not to be used for doing homework/studying during this time. People should only be in the club room if resources they need are only available in the room (i.e. project material).

  • Wash your hands in the restroom immediately prior to entering the club room and when leaving.

  • Do not come to the Bonderson building if:

    • You or one of your roommates is or has been sick in any way, regardless of diagnosis.

    • You have traveled outside San Luis Obispo

  • All members are encouraged to stay home and avoid contact with others to reduce overall transmission and “flatten the curve”.

  • Don’t hesitate to contact a club officer if you have any concerns or just need someone to chat with. We’re all in this together. NOW is the time to post memes in the slack and read a ton of manga and academic papers, or other interesting topics in the Knowledgebase.

As the situation changes:

  • We will defer to the College of Engineering  and other administrative bodies if they request additional measures be taken.

  • Check with the SLO Health Agency for updates and instructions for staying safe

  • Please follow any instructions you receive from the university administration in order to best protect yourself and all members of the community.

Lastly, we are seeking proposals for robotics projects relating to hand sanitizing dispensing or other relevant uses.

Thank you for doing your part to help keep our community safe,

Cal Poly Robotics Club Officers
