At 0:40 in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: E24 - The Ties that Bind JoJo, there is a sound effect nearly identical, if not the same, as the opening text in the EWW videos. Is this a coincidence, or on purpose? (Spoilers if you plan on watching JoJo's at some point).
Oh good it's not just me that thinks a lot of them sound too similar. Like the only recognizable ones for me are Coldwind, Haddonfield, Midwich, Dead Dawg, and RPD (unless I'm missing one). All the rest sound too much alike. Then again what did I expect when BHVR decided to push almost all of them in the same update.
Any ideas on how to make an amazing intro with sound effects, voice changes to have a darker voice like the intro to clone wars episodes, and other things that would go well into this intro both simply and legally?
In an episode dedicated solely to this sound, Netflix VP of Product Todd Yellin starts out by revealing that it's actually called "ta-dum" internally. Yellin is a former filmmaker with an affinity for sound design, and he led the process of creating the ta-dum: Something immediately sonically tied to the experience of watching Netflix.
It should not be necessary for the consumer to deliberately turn down their volume because they know the intro sound is too loud (which is in fact very common (for me atleast) to forget). Atleast make the intro so that it gradually builds up sound, and not a big effing boom as the first sound you hear from your headset, which you have turned on 100% volume from last night when you were sweating with the bois.

A great podcast intro should show new listeners who you are, what your podcast is about, and why they should listen. But, at the same time, it needs to engage your existing audience.
The best podcast intros are unique to each episode and include a teaser of content from later in the show to hook listeners. They often include on-brand music or sound effects. Many also have a CTA too. For example, this could be encouraging listeners to follow you on their preferred podcast platform.
The above episode by the hugely popular How I Built This with Guy Raz, which is recorded using Riverside, is an excellent example of a great podcast intro. The podcast has millions of monthly listeners, and ticks all the boxes on what a great podcast intro should include:
