The Plunderblade is a reward from the Grimalkynes quest in the Rotten Vale. If you haven't already investigated them, it's worth doing so - each unlocks a Palico Gadget and a new monster Tailraider for your Palico to recruit.
You also need Raw Meat to complete this quest. You might already have this in your Item Box from other quests, but if you need some, take down some Aptonoth (the small monsters roaming the opening area of the Ancient Forest) and you'll get some from carving.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to continue this quest. It's called "plunder siege" in forbidden reach, I need to get a journal but I have zero idea what to be doing. I've tried googling and that leads me nowhere. I don't know if I'm just stupid, but a lot of quests in the game seem to give me zero indication of what I need to do or where to go. I started playing about 2 months ago and I do like the game but times like these really make me annoyed with it.
So when I go to the location for the start of the Rotten Vale Grimalkyne quest (sector 13) I don't find anything. The Lynian Researcher is not there and neither is the Plunderer you are supposed to follow. I don't see the Lynian Researcher anywhere on the map, or the Researcher for endemic life. The Piscine Researcher is there, and I haven't yet caught the fish he is after (I think it is called the goldenfish, he said you had to figure out where they were before catching one). The only Grimalkyne icons I see on the map are a group of troopers. I know this grimalkyne doesn't appear on the map. I also checked the area he moves to in case I encountered him earlier and forgot (sector 15) and he wasn't there either, so I am unsure of what to do. Is there some requirement I have to meet before This will happen. I have made it past the rotten vale in the story and have reached the quest "A Wound and a Thirst"
This Palico Gadget is obtained by completing Grimalkyne tribes sidequest in the Rotten Vale.
For this quest, you need to make sure you have a piece of raw meat. Once you have one (which you can get from carving monsters such as the Aptonoth), travel to the central camp, head to area 13, and talk to the Lynian Researcher. You must then wait for an Odogaron to drag a Legiana carcass into the area. (Placing a piece of raw meat will not do anything yet.) Once the Odogaron has dragged the carcass into the area, wait for it to leave and a Grimalkyne will come out. Scare it off and you are then prompted to chase it. Follow the scoutflies into the small cave area. Now, once the Grimalkyne runs away and hides, place a piece of raw meat in the open and hide. Once your palico says it's time to come out, just run up to them and you will receive a cutscene as normal.
Now, this thing is easy to get if you know what triggers the mini 'side quest' to do it, but I've noticed a lot of people struggling the same way I have. I've watched countless videos, read guides and reddit posts explaining how to do it and so far they've been mostly incorrect with the information they have been giving out by saying you need to talk to a researcher in the rotten vale which triggers the cats appearing and thus leading to the quest. Infact, I didn't speak to him and managed to get it done in one minute with the correct circumstances.
Simply walk out of this area and head to area 15, where you will see the same Grimalkyne run away. Listen to your Palico! He will tell you to drop a piece of raw meat (use the quick select items and press B/Circle, don't discard!) Note: If you forget your meat, don't worry, fast travel to Camp 11 and pick some up and head back. This didn't stop the quest for me so don't worry!
The correct entrance is randomised every 25 minutes. Note that until then, the correct door is the same for all players, which makes it useful to play on the official game world (493) if you lack a Pharaoh's sceptre.
Against all odds more than a half century later, she fought her way to the U.S. Supreme Court in her quest to force the Austrian government to give back the painting of her aunt, Adele Bloch-Bauer, the Woman in Gold of the film title.
Everything was left behind and plundered by top Nazis such as Hermann Goering. Adele's diamond necklace, passed on to Maria Altmann upon her marriage, reportedly ended up decorating the neck of Goering's wife.
"She had no idea," Altmann said. "She would have never requested her husband, even in a dream, to leave these to the Gallerie after a number of her friends were murdered, committed suicide. I mean, it is totally incomprehensible that such a thing would have happened."
During the minigame, the player has five minutes to plunder the contents of Jalsavrah. The pyramid consists of eight rooms, each requiring progressively higher Thieving levels to enter and loot. Artefacts pillaged from the rooms range from ivory combs to jewelled diamond statuettes, with the most valuable artefacts found deepest in the pyramid.
Rarely, players may find a Pharaoh's sceptre within a grand gold chest or within a sarcophagus inside Jalsvarah. A Sceptre of the gods can very rarely be plundered from the engraved sarcophagus in the 8th room, requiring 91 Thieving to access and 75 Runecrafting to pry it open. Pieces of the rare Black ibis outfit can be found within the urns or sarcophagi inside of the pyramid.
As soon as the player starts the minigame a timer will appear on screen. Players have five minutes to plunder as many artefacts from the pyramid as they can before the timer is depleted and the Guardian mummy teleports the player out.
In the centre of each room the player will find a grand gold chest. Looting the chest will award the player with higher value artefacts than they would find in the urns nearby. A Pharaoh's sceptre may rarely be obtained from golden chests; if a sceptre is found, the Guardian mummy will appear and escort the player out of the pyramid, ending their plunder.
When the player is in their highest level room and time is running out, prioritise looting the golden chest for a chance at better rewards. If the player still has time remaining after, resume plundering urns until kicked out.
After completion of The Light Within quest players can use of the Crystal Mask spell in conjunction with the Light Form prayer to reduce the rate of failing when checking and searching urns significantly. Wearing Prayer boosting items and drinking a Prayer renewal potion will allow the player to do multiple trips into the pyramid without the need of banking, or recharging their Prayer points.
Unless the player plans to teleport to a bank after each pyramid plunder, food or a healing familiar is the only item necessary to play the minigame for extended periods of time. It is possible for mid-to-high levelled players to make it through several rounds without needing to heal. The equipment below is needed to withstand the damage from monsters and poison during a plundering trip. If the player wishes to reduce banking time, one full inventory of food and potions can last from four to sixteen games depending on how often the player consumes the items. To save time, it is best to eat in between games unless absolutely necessary.
Quick banking can be achieved by using a ring of duelling, ring of kinship, or TokKul-Zo to teleport to nearby banks at Castle Wars, Daemonheim, or TzHaar City respectively. After, a Pharaoh's sceptre or Sceptre of the gods to return to the pyramid if possible. If the player has completed the Contact! quest, use of the bank in Sophanem is another option. A Summoning obelisk can be found along the east wall outside Sophanem, and an altar just southwest of the pyramid. If one is unable or not willing to use the Pharaoh's sceptre, the Menaphos Lodestone just east is a fast and free alternative.
When looting urns, sarcophagi, and chests, players will find various artefacts which may be sold on the Grand Exchange, or traded to Simon Templeton for coins. After completion of the quest Dealing with Scabaras, Simon will purchase noted artefacts from the player. Currently, the completion of the quest Dealing with Scabaras is not necessary for trading noted artefacts to Simon (tested).
The Witches Festival is a holiday event that typically takes place in the month of October. During this event players can obtain a skeletal polymorph, a 100% XP buff and the opportunity to acquire a collection of Witches Festival-themed items. The festival also has a special quest associated with it, named The Witchmother's Bargain, which repeats every year. A notable feature of the event is the inclusion of Plunder Skulls. Plunder Skulls are special reward containers that grant players various event-themed items.
The whistle can be used by all characters on your account (including characters who have not completed The Witchmother's Bargain) since Mementos are account-wide, despite the fact that the quest itself is separate for each character.
Beginning in 2020, the Impresario offers the Witches Grab Bags for 2 Event Tickets each. These bags contain plunder skull items from years past that are no longer available. If you have all items from years' past that are available in the bags, you will be awarded Group Repair Kits. The available loot is:
Two event tickets can be earned daily from looting the body of the first monster you kill that drops plunder skulls. The Impresario will have the first two fragments of the new player house, Doomchar Plateau. In addition to this she will have a selection of furnishings available as well as this years collectible items.
Witches Festival Writs are special master writs that request a Witches Festival themed food or potion via a quest. The recipes for these provisioning items can be found both types of Plunder Skull. Writs themselves can only be obtained from Dremora Plunder Skulls. Writs are also available to buy from the Impresario for 1 Event Ticket each, but these are bound to your account and cannot be traded or sold. See the main page for full details.
