Please note that the Linux compatibility statements here will almost certainly apply to any Bluetooth adapter connected to a Linux PC, not just the Plugable Bluetooth adapter. This is because if Linux supports the driver for a Bluetooth adapter (the driver for the Plugable Bluetooth adapter is built into modern Linux kernels), the device and Bluetooth profile compatibility is still dependent on BlueZ and Pulseaudio which handle data and audio communicated via Bluetooth. There are currently ongoing issues with the BlueZ project, particularly surrounding audio support. Because of these issues, we currently consider Linux incompatible with the adapter.

Without support for BLE, earlier versions of Windows can get confused about how to handle BLE features on devices that have them. This can manifest in a variety of ways such as the PC showing that there are devices it cannot find drivers for, or it may simply appear that a device is connected but won't function. On Windows 7, this can be somewhat addressed by installing the 6.5.0.2000 driver version that we have available for download, rather than the one on the CD that comes with the adapter. This should at least correct issues with newer audio devices that have BLE features.

Originaly sweex distributed a linux driver for its Wireless(802.11)USB adapters, but suddenly they retired their linux drivers from their support site, and according to their technical support linux was no longer supportedfor that product.
The driver was a modification on the linux-wlan-ngdriver developed by AbsoluteValue Systems.
As the driver works and its released under the MPLand GPL licensethis project is going to publish the original driver, and any modifications people submit.

A new, much smaller, driver was later developped to overcome theproblems of the wlan-ng driver.
Now it is part of the main kernel treeasof 2.6.12.
It is recommended that you try this driver instead of the oldwlan-ng driver sinceall new development is done on this driver.

We need more info about that adapter to even see what it is. Use inxi -Nxxx and lspci -nn to show the device with its chipset so we can tell which driver is needed, and if there is one available to support that exact adapter.

The problem for me was that this solution didn't work at all. I updated my Netgear router's firmware, And I also updated the latest drivers for the A6210 adapter. But nothing worked. The third recommendation on that link ("Try disabling the Minimum Power consumption feature on the adapter") didn't apply, because that option did NOT appear under the Adapter Properties list.
