After so much of promise and interest that the trailer of Gunday oozed over the last few months, the film turned out to be an unimaginable dud with almost every cliché that a stereotypical Bollywood film could possibly have. From the inexplicable rise to fame of the two urchins to the ridiculous love triangle which never kicks off to the horrendous execution of the screenplay. Gunday is one sack full of shit with little to look forward too and even little to take home from. If someone does take home something from it then that would be an insufferable headache. A headache inflicted by the numerous song and dance routines, a headache inflicted by the crass and skeletal performances and a headache induced by the uncountable twists and turns which after a while leave you dizzy.

The lesser said about the action, the better. Repeatedly shot, the heroes still stand tall, run jump and fight effortlessly. That is something we have come to expect of the potboilers but the same may need be done in a manner befitting of the plot. Here we are talking about a film which starts off with a start and sepia toned explanation of the genesis story of the two orphans. We are not talking about another Gadar or Wanted or even jai Ho for that matter. This was a film which could have done well with some realistic action sequences. The music may be hummable but in the screenplay it works as a break and nothing else. The songs pop up at the worst possible situations and really test you nerves to the fullest. The editing is passable.

The song Gunday by Devender Ahlawat is a Haryanvi rap song that describes the life of a gang of lawless youths. The lyrics are a mix of Hindi, Haryanvi, and English words, making the song versatile and appealing to a wide audience. The opening lines of the song describe the group as "Mhara Gunday'a ka group, Mhara Ravan ka rup," which means that the group is like Ravana, the demon king from Indian mythology, who was known for his immoral and evil deeds.

The song talks about the gang's favorite activities, such as enjoying the dark nights and indulging in activities such as teasing girls. The verse "Palne m dikh ge the paer yaar ke, Sidha rifle kani karya hand yaar ne" talks about how the group flaunts their weapons, and they consider it their source of pride. Another verse in the song "Nehr ke ma nahan, Ki umar oh bhai," gives a glimpse of how the gang members are involved in serious criminal activities such as murder, and they start at a young age.

Furthermore, the song has a few lines about how the police track down the gang members and send them to jail. The final verse is a warning to the listeners not to mess with the gang as they are fearless and do not hesitate to take revenge. The catchy tune and relatable lyrics make the song a hit among the youthful audience.

Takiya m mousier Bed tala 12bor Bata kit se dharunga Laado tere pyaar ne Dukhsar ala daaku uh Pe laye badnaam Jo kagaza m chala rhe se Tadi paal me Aman dahiya ki kalam Janu chala se bandook Chora mare se yo fire Kaale - kaale gane me (Chora mare se yo fire, Kaale - kaale gane me)
I keep the musket under my pillow and the 12-gauge shotgun under my bed. I will protect you from any pain with my love. I am a notorious bandit who has become infamous. The newspapers write about me. Aman Dahiya's pen has become quiet. He has left because of my gun. I will fire at the thief with the black songs playing in the background.
