I just activated a new local number and checked the box to have calls
recorded. How do I retrieve those recoded calls?

I have the number forwarding to another number right now, but for
future reference how do I set up voicemail for local numbers?

Michael,

To hear your recordings you need to go into the Call Details Report (CDR). Go to "Numbers" ==> "My Numbers."  Next to the phone number is a blue Campaign ID number. Click that number to go to the Campaign Details Page. At the top, in blue, is a link that says "Download Call Detail Records." Click that. You will see a record of all calls, the incoming phonenumber, time, duration, etc. The last column will have the recording -- you can download it or stream it directly from the report.

Voice Mail requires that you set up an IVR to script the voice mail system you want. We don't have on prebuilt into the system. Please contact us to help you get started, or attend our IVR Webinar on Wednesday at 11 AM Pacific Time (go here: http://www.callfire.com/dialer/cm/info/webinar.html).
