Hello, could you please help me, i have a Scanjet 2400 and i already talk to HP support and they told me that they have only Driver for Windows 7 or i should instal some universal Driver. Does anybody know if there is other solution or some Free universal Driver for Windows 10. Thank you.

I finally got around to upgrading from Win 7 to Win 10 Pro a couple of weeks ago and ran into the same problem. The Scanjet 2400 installation disc would not even load under Win 10 - it just generated an error message. The following easy solution worked for me, without the need to buy 3rd party software.
Also, my computer was a new build, which did not start with Scanjet 2400 software already on it. If you upgraded to Win 10 on a disc that already had Scanjet software on it, you may have an even easier solution. Try navigating to the executable file ("C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\Hpqdirec.exe") and follow the same Compatibility procedure as above - if it doesn't work, then follow the new installation procedure.
Several pages recommend too the link above however SANE supports HP ScanJet 2400 scanner directly through genesys backend. You can check your installation with scanimage -L and scan with scanimage > test.pnm from the command line.
Okay, in your own time and when you're ready! No rush... Some three and a half minutes later, the HP Scanjet wheezes its way to the end of our test scan like a fell walker who's just smoked 40 Capstan Full-Strength before tackling Mount Everest.
Now there's nothing wrong in trying to keep the cost of a product down, but this budget scanner from HP takes cost-cutting to a new low - and it shows. On paper, the 1,200dpi and 48-bit colour resolution looks pretty good, but in practice the Scanjet 2400 produces blue and red fringed scans that match the toy-like build quality of this modest-looking little flatbed.
Sadly, the software bundle that comes with HP's Scanjet range isn't much better than the scanner itself. HP was one of the first companies to support scanners in OS X, and some fundamental errors were made back in those early days.
The poor interface of the scanning software and the lack of an intuitive workflow make HP scanners a bit of a chore to use. Add in the sluggishness of the performance and you have a scanner that wouldn't really be very good value if it were free.
That may sound a little harsh, but consider this: if your scanner takes around three times as long to scan an image as anyone else's, then unless time means absolutely nothing to you, this scanner will actually end up costing you money in the form of lost productivity.
Another major bugbear for us was an annoying grain of polystyrene that was stubbornly clinging to the underside of the scanner's glass plate. We couldn't shift it and it showed up on all our scans. OBJETIVO: identificar a presena de sinais de alteraes na expirao de crianas asmticas. MTODO: este estudo foi realizado com 30 crianas com idades entre 6 e 10 anos de ambos os sexos com diagnstico clnico de asma confirmado pelo pronturio mdico e 30 crianas no asmticas tambm de ambos os sexos na mesma faixa etria. Foi avaliada a aerao nasal com o espelho milimetrado de Altmann, sendo mensurado o escape de ar nasal objetivando a verificao da sada uni ou bilateral do ar e a relao de simetria entre a narina direita e a esquerda. As imagens foram importadas para o computador por meio do scanner HP da srie Scanjet 2400. A anlise foi realizada no software Scion Image for Windows (Alpha 4.0.3.2). Para anlise das variveis quantitativas entre grupos foi aplicado o teste t-student e para a anlise intragrupos foi aplicado o teste t-Student pareado.Todas as concluses foram tomadas ao nvel de significncia de 5%, sendo usados o Excel 2000 e o SPSS v8.0, para as anlises. RESULTADOS: no foram encontradas diferenas estatisticamente significantes entre as crianas asmticas e no-smticas, acerca das mensuraes quanto rea total e quanto s reas das narinas direita e esquerda. CONCLUSO: no foi identificada a presena de sinais de alteraes na expirao de crianas asmticas, desta forma, faz-se necessrio um estudo mais especfico das funes nasal e pulmonar.
