Jdk 6 update 13 with java fx sdk

JavaFX is a software platform for creating and delivering rich internet applications (RIAs) that can run across a wide variety of devices. JavaFX is intended to replace Swing as the standard GUI library for Java SE, but both will be included for the foreseeable future. JavaFX has support for desktop computers and web browsers on Microsoft Windows, Linux, and macOS. Additionally, Oracle plans to make JavaFX available for iOS and Android devices in the future.

To develop with JavaFX on Windows, you need Java Development Kit (JDK) 6 Update 13 or later (Update 18 recommended). On Macintosh OS X, you need JDK 5 Update 16 or later. You can download the latest JDK from Oracle's website. The JDK includes the JavaFX SDK, which provides the command-line tools and technologies to develop expressive content for applications deployed to browsers, desktops, and mobile devices. The JavaFX SDK also includes the JavaFX Desktop runtime, the JavaFX Mobile Emulator and runtime (Windows only), the JavaFX API documentation, and samples.

If you prefer to use an integrated development environment (IDE) for JavaFX development, you can download NetBeans IDE 6.9 for JavaFX 1.3, which provides all the tools you need to build a JavaFX application, as well as samples that help you along. This download installs the JavaFX 1.3 SDK, NetBeans IDE 6.9, and plugins for JavaFX development tools. Alternatively, you can install the JavaFX plugin for NetBeans IDE 6.9 if you already have it on your system.

Another useful tool for JavaFX development is the JavaFX Production Suite, which enables designers to convert their rich media assets to JavaFX format and view the converted files before handing them off to JavaFX application developers. The JavaFX Production Suite consists of three components: the JavaFX Plugin for Adobe Photoshop (exports graphics in Photoshop to JavaFX format), the JavaFX Plugin for Adobe Illustrator (exports graphics in Illustrator to JavaFX format), and the JavaFX Media Factory (converts SVG files to JavaFX format and provides a Viewer for displaying JavaFX format files).

With JDK 6 Update 13 or later, the Java FX SDK, and the optional tools mentioned above, you are ready to start creating amazing applications with JavaFX.
