Latest Revision 3.1.0.70

-Corrected bug in badpixel detection logic.  If no masterBIAS file was specified for use with the masterDARK, the Standard Deviation threshold was fixed at 5 instead of what the user had defined.

-I modified the histogram formatting so that the initial view is much improved.

-The Row Noise Filter algorithm has been revised.  It no longer needs a COLOR or MONO mode. It is specifically designed for Deep Sky Object images with lots of sky background.  The main advantage of the CaLIGHTs row noise filter is that when every LIGHT frame has significantly reduced row noise, the stacked results will be smoother.  The standard practise for reducing row noise is to stack lots of LIGHT frames. The CaLIGHTs row noise filter should relax this requirement. Row noise can look like a single scanline or a consecutive group of scanlines that are brighter or darker than their neighbouring scanlines. The “Light” setting is for row noise that is mostly single scanlines that occur at several random locations.  The “Medium” and “Heavy” settings attempt to correct for row noise that affects larger and larger consecutive groups of scanlines.

-The Image Preview window that appears when making adjustments to the Noise Filter, FLATCOMP or the Bad Pixel Filter now has three buttons at the top left that allow you to view the contributions from only the red, green or blue pixels.  The default is for the preview to use all colours.  This can be useful when using filters.  If you turn off the GREEN and BLUE channels then only the RED channel data is used to generate the displayed greyscale image.  The YELLOW false color associated with the Noise Filter with then show you exactly which RED pixels will be affected by the noise filter. Also the title of this Image Preview now shows you the X and Y co-ordinates of where your mouse is located in the image.  The Image Preview will now show you the effect of the row noise filter, if selected.

-The Show Dust Motes viewer now displays the X and Y co-ordinates of where your mouse is located in the image.

-Calibrate Preview…As you may know, the Image Preview screen displays a greyscale image of your calibrated LIGHT frame and uses false colours (Red, Blue and Yellow) to show you exactly which pixels are affected by various calibration selections.  I now have created a Calibrate Preview screen that gives you a full color image with all of the calibrations options applied.

When you click on the Calibrate Preview button it will call up the Calibrate Preview window and CaLIGHTs will perform a temporary calibration and display the resulting image on the Calibrate Preview screen.  The Calibrate button will be renamed “Regenerate Preview” and the Calibrate Preview button will be disabled and greyed out.  The main feature of the Calibrate Preview window is that you can still access all of the options available to you on the main CaLIGHTs screen.  This means that you can change any of the calibration options and then view the results by clicking the Regenerate Preview button.
