to Californians for Cynthia McKinney for President
All,

Assuming folks want to hear about what was discussed, i'll send
brief reports of conference call business and info, as soon as
possible after the call. Let me know what you want to hear about for
the future.

A) - Delegate Distribution and Ballot Access (BA) progress reports.
- 13 states attended the call and gave the following reports.
(i'm not sure of the spelling of names below)

Rhode Island(Greg Gerritt) - 6 of 8 delegates for CMcK - BA
established.
Tennessee(Katie Colvert) - May 3rd state convention - They need only
25 signatures for CMcK to run as an Independent.
Oklahoma(Joanie Lavitias) - End of May caucus/ for 8 delegates -
They need 45,000 (valid?) signatures gathered during May until June
15th for BA for the GP - apparently (?) Bob Barr is running as a
Libertarian and has agreed to help Greens challenge the draconian BA
laws of Oklahoma.
Georgia(Hugh Esco and Lucy ?) - May 3rd state convention/estimates 5
or 6 for CMcK of 8 delegates - They need approx 70,000 signatures
(44,500 valid) for BA.
Washington(Mary Rose) - 12 delegates to be determined (TBD) by 4/29
- For BA, they need approx 2,000 sigs gathered (1,000 valid) after
the Nat'l convention determines the candidate.
New Mexico(Rick Lask) - 8 delegates TBD at state convention 6/6 - BA
assured.
Kansas(Janice Mathews) - Janice is new to this - the state is not well
organized - there is no ballot status.
Maine(Jacqui Deveneau) - 80% (35-36) of 44 delegates for CMcK - BA
established.
Hawaii(Clare Mortimer) - 4 of 8 delegates for CMcK - They recently
regained BA, altho BA is open to challenge up to 5/1 by Dem/Rep
Parties.
Virginia(Tom ?) - Balloting for 8 delegates complete by 4/11 - For BA,
17,000 sigs (10,000 valid) needed by Aug 22 - they have 2,000 now -
sigs are subject to challenge and the burden of proof is on the
signers !
Michigan(Fred ?) - Delegate selection completed by 4/19; 20 of 24
delegates expected for CMcK - BA assured upon submission of paperwork.
SoCarolina(Greg Jacoi) - May 3rd state convention; expects 4 of 8
delegates for CMcK - Said BA is not an issue but also spoke of CMcK
being a fusion candidate ?

B) - Fundraising Report
- July 13th is the cut-off date for raising $100,000 ($5,000 from
20 states) to qualify for matching funds.
- 5 Down, 15 to Go! Since the January report was released, two
more states have raised their first $5k in qualifying contributions.
*New York and *Texas surmounted the $5k threshold supporting our
efforts to qualify for Federal Matching Funds: for Cynthia McKinney.
They join California, Oregon and Illinois, who made the January
report.
The following states have already given $1,000 or more and are on
their way towards the goal: *D.C. ($2.7k), Florida ($1.2k),
*Massachusettes ($1k), *Michigan ($1.7k), *Minnesota ($2.7k), Oklahoma
($1k), *Washington ($2.6k) and Wisconsin ($1.6k). (Unaudited figures
current through February 29th, 2008; * indicates change since last
month).
The next fundraising report is due out in about a week.

(IMO this is THE most important thing we in California can do to
help out at this point - raising these funds will help more states
fund Ballot Access efforts and give the Green Party visibility/
credibility in almost all states)

C) - Next TC call is Monday, April 28th, 5pm (PST)

Peace/Unity
