CaPA Fund Raising Meeting with Laura McCrea
As part of CaPA's ongoing strategic planning, we are proud to announce
our fund raising meeting with Laura McCrea. At this meeting,
consutlant Laura McCrea will be leading a fund raising seminar that
will outline fund raising goals and schedule for CaPA along with the
support and infrastructure that will need to be implemented to make it
all happen.
We'd like to accommodate as many people as are interested in
attending, but because the event will be graciously hosted by fellow
CaPA member, Avrum Gratch, we'd like limit participation in the
meeting to those activists who are able to commit themselves to CaPA's
fund raising efforts.
Please contact the CaPA office at
cap...@sbcglobal.net or call
510-665-8523 for more information.

Governor, Sign SB 840
Health Care YES – Insurance Companies NO
SB 840 is expected to pass the legislature by the end of the month.
Then, the bill goes to the Governor’s desk for signature or veto. We
must show the Governor the overwhelming support that exists for SB 840
and demand that he sign the bill – and give Californians the health
care we need and deserve. We will be presenting the Governor our
demands and 1000’s of postcards from Californians urging him to do the
right thing.
Join us for a rally and press event to demand that Governor
Schwarzenegger sign SB 840!

Take Back Your Profession!
UCI & USC AMSA with CSPHeRe Present...
Universal Healthcare Conference with Beach Barbeque and Bar Night to
Follow!! Bring flip-flops for the beach and dress to impress for the
evening!
Healthcare professional students face a future profession in a
fragmented system that is becoming too expensive for many Americans to
afford. Healthcare reform is a top issue that political candidates all
over the country must confront and respond to this election season.
Dr. Sherif Emil and Parker Duncan, CAPA Fellow, will address a
solution to health reform that can provide truly universal
comprehensive health care to all Americans for less money. USC medical
students will present sights, sounds, and stories from Lobby Day 2008
in Sacramento, and will discuss plans for Lobby Day 2009 in January.
Carpooling will be an option from the USC area. For carpooling and
additional information please contact J. Matt Greenberg, MS2, at
jare...@usc.edu.
Also, if you would like a place to stay in Irvine for the night so you
can participate in the BAR NIGHT, please let J. Matt know by email
(
jare...@usc.edu).
