Dear CaPA Activist,
We have two particularly important and exciting events we’d like to highlight this month: the December 5th LA Meeting regarding CaPA presentations to the business community, and the December 13th Annual Holiday Party in Berkeley. Updated details for both are listed on the calendar below. We hope you can make it to the event nearest you. (Don’t forget to RSVP.) And as always, be sure to check the frequently updated online calendar for additional listings as the month progresses.
Please see the note that follows from CaPA Board Officer Dr. Geoffry White regarding the LA meeting.
Enjoy the holidays!
Sincerely,
John Shearer, MD

Note to Southern California Region CaPA Members:
It is very important that we present single payer to the business community. Their support is vital to the success of SB840 and single payer in general. Yet many people are uncomfortable doing speaking engagements to business groups for a variety of reasons.
Please come to the December 5th meeting (details below) where we will present and refine an approach to talking to both small and large business and related groups e.g., Chambers of Commerce.
At this meeting you will hear from physicians who have had positive experiences doing public speaking presentations to a variety of business groups. You will also be provided with power point presentations developed in California, Vermont and at the national level.
You will also get a chance to hear from Emily Gold, field representative from Senator Kuehl's Southern California office. She will present her approach to this topic and make presentation materials available to us.
I have invited reps from HCA and OneCareNow so we might begin to collaborate on this most vital activity.
Please RSVP because the meeting is in my home and we have limited space. However, all are welcome!
CONTACT ME AT Geoffr...@gmail.com IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR SUGGESTIONS.
Sincerely,
Geoffry White,
CaPA Board Officer
